Thus, he is trying to revive the forgotten traditions of the retirement of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Many of his students have visited Spain and Italy, where they were able to see with their own eyes the unique and inimitable architecture of Venice, Florence and Rome, as well as appreciate the world-famous masterpieces of the Uffizi and Prado.
As a rule, the result teaching activities Ilya Glazunov, to become high level skill and professionalism of his students.

Summing up, the conclusion suggests itself that this Academy was, is and will be, an art institution that preserves, develops and constantly improves the established traditions of the European realistic art school.

The Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov is located within the sacred walls of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the beginning of which dates back to 1843. It studied and taught: A. Savrasov, A. Vasnetsov, M. Nesterov, I. Levitan, V. Serov, K. Korovin, S. Konenkov, A. Golubkina, F. Shekhtel and other great Russian artists.
In 1986, People's Artist of the USSR, Professor, Academician Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov revived this glorious educational institution, founding the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
The Academy considers its highest goals the revival of the great traditions of Russian and European fine arts, defending the position of high realism.
Date of creation:
On March 01, 1987 the Academy was opened as the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR dated 03.03.1987 No. 110 "On the opening of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy in Moscow."
The Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR was renamed the All-Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR No. 418 dated 30.09.1988.
Considering the great importance of fine arts and architecture in the revival of the spirituality of Russian society by the Decree of the President Russian Federation from 10.06.1995, № 585 "On the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture" All russian Academy painting, sculpture and architecture was transformed into the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
By the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 10, 2009 No. 465, the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture was renamed into the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov.
It was he who, back in 1986, when perestroika was just beginning in the country, Ilya Glazunov came up with the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating a new art higher educational institution, in which the realistic traditions of the Russian art school would be revived - the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. And accordingly, the question arose about the return of the building of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at 21 Myasnitskaya Street, and the placement in it of the newly created All-Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
The history of the Yushkov house continues.
In the building of the Academy there is a museum, in the halls of which copying classes are held for students of the faculties of painting, restoration of painting, sculpture, architecture. The Academic Museum includes a copy class, a graphics room, an educational drawing room, a painting classroom, a hall of Old Russian and folk art... The expositions feature antique works of Russian and Western European art (painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied art), the best student works of Ilya Glazunov's RAZhViZ from 1987 to 2015. The collection of the museum comprises more than 5000 units of storage of the main and methodological funds.
Today, there is only one educational institution in the world, which, in the opinion of many cultural figures both in our country and abroad, preserves the traditions of the European and Russian schools of high realism.
In our time, when most of the Academies of the world, under the onslaught of avant-gardism, have lost the concept of "school", which determines the level of high professionalism of an artist and the criteria for true art, the Academy is establishing the principles of high skill, realism and spirituality, without which there can be no real great art.
Thus, the founding of the Russian Academy of Sculpture, Painting and Architecture by Ilya Glazunov is of great cultural and historical significance for Russian art, as well as for the preservation of the best traditions of Russian culture in the future. The building itself, built in 1780-1790, has undergone many changes, is also the cultural heritage of our city.
