How is this document compiled
Thus, the production calendar is the most reliable and accurate source for information on such issues as holidays, weekends and weekdays. How many there will be depends not only on the place of work of the person. In each specific year, their number may vary. This is due primarily to the fact that they often fall on the weekend. The difference is small, but it is still there. For example, in 2012 we worked 250 days, and in 2013 - 247. The number is also influenced by whether it is a leap year or a regular year. Thus, the calendar allows the employee to be always informed about all non-working holidays. This useful document is produced annually. Only the Government of the Russian Federation has the right to amend it. Therefore, it is worth not only familiarizing yourself with the calendar, but also following the relevant decrees.
What laws govern the compilation of the calendar
How many working days will be reflected in this document and how many holidays - information that is directly dependent on the standards specified in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. So, according to article 112 (part 2), if a holiday coincides with a day off, the latter is transferred to a working day (first) after the holiday. That is, for example, if March 8 falls on Sunday, the rest is laid on Monday. In addition, according to the same article preceding the holiday by one hour.

There is also a fifth part of Article 112, according to which the weekend can be postponed by the Government of the Russian Federation (by a special decree). Such a law allows employees in certain situations to use their personal time much more efficiently.

Also, when drawing up the production calendar, Article 110 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation is taken into account, according to which the number of hours of rest (continuous) should not be less than 42.
2014 Calendar
The number of working days per year, as the reader has already understood, is directly dependent on the Government of the Russian Federation, which compiles the production calendar. What made us happy in 2014? So, according to this document, holidays, which means non-working days this year will be the following:
- 1 - 6 and 8 January - New Year;
- 7/01 - Nativity of Christ;
- 23/02 - Defender of the Fatherland Day;
- 8/03 - 8 March;
- 1/05 - Spring Festival;
- 9/05 - Victory Day over Nazi Germany;
- 12/06 - Day of Russia;

Thus, this year we rested for 8 days for the New Year. There will be 3 non-working days on March 8 (from 8 to 10). In May, we rest 4 days (1 - 4) on the spring holiday and on Victory Day - 3 days (9 - 11). And four more free days await us in November (from 1 to 4). If you make simple calculations, it turns out that the number of working days this year will be 247, as in 2013. The number of working days reduced by one hour is 6. There will be 118 days off, including all weekends. Of course, all these calculations correspond to a five-day working day.
Working hours
Of course, it is worth knowing not only how many holidays the employees are entitled to in each specific year, but also how many hours he can work in a certain period of time (maximum). Such issues are regulated by Article 91 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. For example, the number of working hours per week cannot exceed forty. Moreover, each employer (regardless of the legal form of the enterprise) must necessarily take into account the actual time worked by each employee.
Who is entitled to a reduced number of hours
Working days of the week may be shortened for certain citizens. Of course, everyone should know about this as well.
- For workers under 16, the number of hours worked per week should be reduced by 10.
- Over 16, but under 18 - by 4 hours.
- People with disabilities will have to work 5 hours less.
- In areas of production with harmful working conditions, the working week should be reduced by 4 hours (or more).
- For workers in chemical industries listed in the law, a 36-24 hour week may be established.
