Book event of the year - MIBF-2016
The traditional annual book fair was held in Moscow at VDNKh from 7 to 11 September. During this time, about 800 events were held there.
The oldest Moscow exhibition-fair, which has been held annually in the capital since 1977, is also called the book or author's forum. This year, Denis Dragunsky, Tatyana Ustinova, Sergei Shargunov, Dmitry Bykov, Vladimir Voinovich, Mikhail Weller, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Zakhar Prilepin, Arkady Inin, Katya Pitsyk, Yanush Vishnevsky, Andrei Dementyev, Edward Radzinsky and many other writers spoke to the readers.
The head of Rospechat, Mikhail Seslavinsky, noted that, despite the difficult economic situation in the country, the main result of the Year of Literature in Russia was the growth trend in book circulation.
In addition to writers and poets, famous artists and directors, cultural and art workers, politicians and athletes traditionally take part in the book fair. This year, the event was also attended by cinematographers - in honor of the Year of Russian Cinema. The exhibition also hosted a conference on copyright, where authors, lawyers, agents and employees of the film industry discussed various nuances associated with the use of objects intellectual property... Writers and publishers offered directors and producers their best works for further adaptation.
Visitors were welcomed by presentations of publications, lectures, master classes, poetry evenings, conferences, performances, round tables on legislation in the book industry, programs for children, as well as demonstrations of the most striking domestic projects using augmented reality technologies.
More than 500 were presented at the exhibition only russian publishing houses.
By tradition, the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church took part in the international book fair. Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, who from 2009 to 2015. headed the Synodal Department of the Russian Orthodox Church for the interaction of the Church and society, noted that the exhibition refutes the recent times popular thesis about the "death" of paper books:

Among the foreign guests of the fair are delegations from Greece, China, Iran, Cuba, Armenia, who brought books from their publishing houses and interesting programs... Thus, Cuba held events in honor of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro, unique photographs and interesting Facts from the life of a revolutionary. Armenia presented Valery Bryusov's anthology "Poetry of Armenia from Ancient Times to the Present". Greece has become a guest of honor at the fair this year. Pavilion No. 75 will bring together more than 500 publishing houses from Russia, countries of near and far abroad, which will present the best examples of fiction, children's, educational and popular science literature. For five days of work, more than 800 events will be held at various venues of the exhibition, including meetings with eminent writers, theater and film actors, cultural figures, art, politics, science and sports.
For almost 30 years of its existence, the Moscow International Book Fair has established itself as a unique platform for interaction and communication between fans of literature, authors and publishers from different countries and continents. This year, its guests will be able to meet their favorite authors here, purchase their books and get autographs. By the day of the city, there are always many books in the capital. VDNKh invariably collects a book fair, and Eksmo-AST and others surprise people with something new. Or they try. This time I again walked through the ranks among the publishers and looked at what is interesting.
It would be strange to make a big report with clever speeches. The book world has long been formed and everyone understands that our people read a lot, but not always legally.
1. The first thing that I noticed was a strange desire to promote oneself on the Internet with incomprehensible things. Take a picture with Bunin ... Uh ... With a book? With a poster? Laid out and rejoice - you found the poster! 
2. A fashionable topic about another vision of Russian history in the background should not distract you. A small meeting with the writer was on a completely different topic. Most likely it is even a different writer. 
3. I would love to have books like these in my collection. Large gorgeous albums with the beauties of Tsarskoye Selo. There were many different things at the stand. In general, the topic of such massive gift editions is very popular. 
4. Greece became a guest country. The stand is eye-catching and interesting. But here's the bad luck: last year Iran attracted something, but the Greeks failed. 
5. From the exotic, Nicaraguan literature was met. 
6. These books surprised me. Probably the minimum circulation. Urban and rural clergy of the Tver diocese in the middle of the 19th century. A very narrow topic. 
7. But people were attracted by everything very unusual. 
8. And the presidential library did not attract at all. Why is she here? Show that she exists? Okay. 
9. Russian and foreign literature sometimes differ. These brightly mixed editions stood out only in color, but the reader seemed to be small. 
10. But what a demand for books about Moscow! There are a lot of them and many are beautiful! The books on every single street are just as good. It was not for nothing that everything was being repaired now. And it is not a shame to walk, and it is not a shame to invite guests, and it is not a shame in front of tourists. And now it's not a shame to buy a book as a keepsake. 
11. Large beautiful publications and children's literature this year seemed much more numerous than last year. My girlfriend noticed this too. 
12. She quickly found interesting things in books. For example, on one of the stands there were all the books on famous places in the central region, as well as on neighboring areas, where you can get by water. 
13. You can talk about this, but I have no desire to spoil your mood. 
14. I didn't notice right away, but it turns out that during the shooting of this frame, they constantly shook my fist. Drive such from public events without pay! I was just filming a beautifully arranged stack of FanZon books. I am planning to get acquainted with "Red Mars". As I like to say, consider this an announcement.

16. As always, there are enough places at the exhibition where you can buy Biblio-Globus disco cards. And the goods in some stores at the exhibition were already with its price tags and a discount. 
17. An unexpected solution was the micro-stands for meetings with writers. Some of them don't have a large audience, and the audience still wants to meet. There were such small corners in that case. 
18. Several meeting places created Eksmo-AST at once. A large group with a bunch of brands occupied a prominent part of the exhibition. 
19. At the stand of paper models of buildings, I thought: maybe it is worth putting something like that in my place?

21. The most ugly at the exhibition was again found. The family is not without ... Ahem. And we also think: why do some children start to write with mistakes?

What is the result of the whole exhibition? They did not fail and made me happy. but again I did not begin to review everything. Book store not in vain has departments. The book exhibition is a big beautiful store. You will always pass by the boring one into the hall of your interest.
