The mystery of the imperishable bodies of Tibetan monks. Is the deceased Buddhist monk alive? The Dalai Lama has been sitting in Buryatia for 80 years

20.01.2011 - 13:16

When the body of the Great Lama was removed from the burial site, everyone was surprised that 75 years after the burial, it was preserved in excellent condition - in the same lotus position that Itigelov took when he passed away meditating.

A unique operation to freeze people. A cryoprotectant solution is injected into the human body so that the liquid in the body does not turn into crystals that destroy cells. Then the body is placed in liquid nitrogen and cooled to a temperature of minus 196 degrees. An already frozen person is transferred to a special chamber in which it will be stored for tens of years, until scientists learn to unfreeze and revive such people. This is why the whole procedure is done. Such a person will be able to wake up and live in a different era, get to know his descendants. This pleasure costs 30 thousand dollars. But today there is a person who was able to do the same only without the help of freezing and refrigerator.

Khambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov at the beginning of the twentieth century was the head of the Buddhists of Russia and was famous among believers for his unearthly origin. According to eyewitnesses, Itigelov knew how to move in space, as soon as the door was closed behind him, he immediately found himself a kilometer away. According to legend, once he even rode a horse on the surface of the White Lake. In 1927, the Great Lama died and bequeathed to raise his body from the grave after 75 years. In June 2002, the will of the Lama was carried out. The forensic experts present at the exhumation were shocked: soft skin without signs of decay, movable fingers and elbow joints, preserved nose, ears and eyes. For the study, experts took the hair, skin particles and nail plates of the llama. For several months, all kinds of analyzes were carried out in the laboratory. The results shocked everyone: Lama Itigelov is alive.

Yanzhima Vasilyeva, granddaughter of Lama Itigelov:
A study was carried out, it turned out that the organic component of the body of Khambo Lama Itigelov did not undergo any changes and has all the characteristics of his lifetime.

Lama Itigelov breathes, his heart beats, however external signs he does not serve life. In the 8 years that have passed since his exhumation, he did not eat or drink anything, but he can live, not just live, but also participate in Buddhist services. At such events, Itigelov even sweats.

Yanzhima Vasilieva:
The moment he takes part in the service, he sweats a lot. Several times we simply wipe off these large drops that flow, the clothes become wet. But here's the most amazing thing - how does it gain moisture back?

According to scientists, the state of the llama is ordinary suspended animation, it is something of deep sleep. But the surprising thing is that before him this state was not inherent in man. Previously, scientists observed such a state only in microorganisms; they fall into suspended animation during environmental disasters: severe frost or heat, high pressure or radiation. As soon as living conditions change, they come to life again. But if microbes fall into suspended animation due to weather conditions, then in the case of a llama, the opposite is true: it is not his body that controls him, but he controls his body. He voluntarily accepted this state. Before his death, he gathered his disciples and ordered to read a prayer of goodwill for the deceased. He fell into a deep trance and passed away, he programmed himself to wake up someday.

The fact that the power of self-hypnosis works was proved in the last century. In medicine, a concept appeared - the placebo effect. It was discovered by Henry Beecher, he worked as an anesthesiologist during the Second World War. One day, after another heavy battle, many wounded were received, and Henry ran out of morphine for pain relief, to calm the patients on the operating table, he injected with ordinary saline as pain relief - and it worked. The wounded did not really feel pain and underwent difficult operations without morphine. Scientists have not yet discovered the placebo effect. If this can be done, then a person will be able to order his body whatever he wants.

Vyacheslav Zvonikov, Doctor of Medical Sciences:
Special studies have been carried out, which show that the presence of pronounced extraordinary abilities in simple ordinary people is present because it is they that allow them to adapt more easily, to endure stress loads, extreme conditions.

This possibility of the human body interested the military. In the laboratories, research is being conducted on the processes of self-hypnosis, such a discovery will create an invincible army. Soldiers will be able to order their bodies not to feel hungry and thirsty, so as not to take supplies of food and water on distant passages. They will be able to order themselves not to get tired and to march hundreds of kilometers without rest or sleep. They will even be able, with the help of thought, to warm their bodies in 40-degree frosts.

"Provides a better quality of life." For the first time in Belarus, an innovative pacemaker was implanted

News of Belarus. On October 18, the first operation to install a new generation pacemaker was performed at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Cardiology", according to the News "24 Hours" program on STV. The technology appeared only in 2019, so such operations are rare in the world, and are not practiced at all in the CIS countries.

What is the advantage for patients, correspondent Camilla Shah found out.

A 32-year-old young man became the first patient to whom surgeons installed the latest pacemaker. He has acquired heart disease - it developed within a month due to inflammatory processes. It was accompanied by a rare pulse, only about 40 beats per minute. As a result, dizziness, lightheadedness and the risk of death. But tomorrow the guy will get back on his feet, and in a few days he will return to his family. Healthy.

Oleg Kovalenko, doctor - endovascular surgeon of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center
The new technique makes it possible to achieve the physiological contraction of the heart as it should be. We achieve this by implanting a pacemaker that synchronizes the work of the atria and ventricles.

The latest technology has many differences from the previous one. Firstly, it does not require cavity intervention. The operation is performed using a minimally invasive method. But the main thing is that the electrode in the patient's heart is now installed so that both valves work synchronously. This relieves the patient from shortness of breath and heart failure, which in turn significantly prolongs life.

Dmitry Goncharik, doctor - X-ray endovascular surgeon, Republican Scientific and Practical Center
Conventional pacemakers, which were inserted before, of any company, a special electrode is attached to them. The same stimulant behaves in a completely different way. It provides the patient with a long-term best result and a better quality of life for many years to come.

Technology is called the most modern for a reason. It appeared this year and only a few clinics in the world began to use it. Belarus is the first in the post-Soviet space.

Alexander Mrochek, chief cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of Belarus, director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center
Literally new technology, which was invented in the United States of America, and now our country has been chosen as the conductors of this technique. All this allows us, first of all, to help our residents who need this kind of surgery.

Pacemaker installation operations are one of the most demanded. About 4000 of them are held annually in Belarus. Specialists from all regional centers watched the implantation today. They will be trained on the basis of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Cardiology", so that every Belarusian has a chance for a healthy heart.

In September 2002, the former head of the Buryat Buddhists Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov, as he bequeathed, he returned to our world: his body was taken out of a wooden box under the ground and transferred to the Ivolginsky datsan (monastery). The Blessed Palace was built there especially for him. In it the Precious and Inexhaustible body continues to “live” to this day.

Came in a dream

“See the windows on the second floor are open? He sits there at room temperature, breathes the same air as you and me. There is no refrigerator. Now he is resting, tired after the morning service, "sighs Dashi Batuev, the guardian of the body of Khambo Lama Itigelov. In fact, he has three guardians, their duties include holding prayers together with Itigelov (two hours every morning), receiving messages from him (more on that later) and an unpretentious toilet. Twice a month the Precious Body is changed and the face is rubbed with oil.

“Is there a smell? At first, when I just came to him as a keeper, I sharply felt the smell of an elderly person, aha, - like many Buryats, the Dashi Lama puts “aha” at the end of almost every phrase. - But over time, the smell went away. Or I'm used to it, yeah. And when they took it out of the ground and only opened the box, they say there was a very strong fragrance, yeah. "

The fact that the former Pandito Khambo Lama is sitting underground in the lotus position in Buryatia by the beginning of the XXI century. could have easily forgotten. Of the people who saw Itigelov during his lifetime, only one remained by that time, the lamas did not really know anything about this story, they did not pass information about the burial place to each other. And it was unsafe then.

Perhaps Khambo Lama Iti-gels would have remained forever buried, but he chose a different path. Namely, he began to appear in a dream to one of the monks. “He often dreamed, said that it was time for him to go out, yeah,” Batuev recalls. - And this man told everything to the other lamas acting Khambo Lame Ayusheev... Then they began to look for a burial place and found it. And that monk Bimba Dorzhiev, now the main guardian of the Precious and Inexhaustible Body, yeah. "

"The glass is fogged up!"

The exhumation was carried out as required by law: signatures from relatives were collected, and forensic experts were invited. Here is an extract from the conclusion: “The corpse of a man in a sitting position, with the legs bent at the knees, and the legs with the feet crossed ... No signs of rotting ... Any extraneous aromatic, resinous or putrid odors from the contents of the box were not detected ... The soft tissues of the corpse are elastic, the mobility of the joints is preserved ...

No traces of the previously performed autopsy for the purpose of possible embalming or conservation were not found. "

Embalming (or embalming) is one of the methods known to science to preserve the body after death. Such - embalmed like Lenin, or dried up like an Egyptian mummy - his distant relative expected to see Itigelov Yanzhima Vasilieva:

“I was shocked. I thought it would be a numb body. I pressed on my stomach, and it's soft! I touched my hands - the joints are movable. It was a shock for everyone. In addition, there was salt in the box. If Itigelov had died an ordinary physical death, the salt would have eaten away the body, and it was as if it were alive. Forensic experts assured that in a few hours, in a maximum of a couple of days, it would begin to deteriorate and turn into decay. This happens during abrupt changes in conditions - for example, when the remains of a mammoth are taken out of the ice. Therefore, the body was placed in a refrigerator. They set a certain temperature in it. We came the next day: the temperature in the cell rose by 2 ° C, and the glass was fogged up! "

In addition to sweating (usually during prayer services and with a large crowd of people), Itigelov changes his body weight. At the time of his "return" he weighed 46 kilos, and then lost weight to 42. But on the days of meetings with pilgrims (7-8 such days are recruited a year) he adds 100 grams. It is also surprising that the pose in which he was in a wooden box for 75 years remains unchanged. But no supporting and fixing devices are used for this.

Two years after the exhumation of Itigelov's body, scientists from the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) were allowed to examine it. In particular, analyze hair, skin particles and nails. Got down to work Victor Zvyagin - Head of the Personality Identification Department of the Russian Center for Forensic Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences. He once made a conclusion about belonging Hitler charred corpse found in Berlin, and was also one of the first to study the remains, declared to be Nicholas II and his family members.

After examining biological samples delivered from Buryatia using the method of infrared spectrophotometry, the experts came to the conclusion: "Protein fractions have vital characteristics." Simply put, body tissues are no different from those of a living person! As V. Zvyagin explained then, it looks like Itigelov died a day or two, but not 75 years ago. He had his eyeballs and internal organs in place!

The conclusion of experts: modern science does not know such a state of the body after physical death, in which Khambo Lama Itigelov is. It was then that the word "phenomenon" was first heard from the lips of scientists.

Science-known ways to preserve the body after death

Mummification

 • Conditions: hot and dry air, adequate ventilation. The corpse is completely dehydrated and dries up. Its volume and mass are sharply reduced, the skin becomes fragile and brittle, takes on a brownish-brown hue.
 • Examples: was popular in Ancient Egypt. Now used by some African tribes.

Embalming

 • Conditions:fabrics are impregnated with substances that prevent decay - the so-called. antiseptics. It is produced, as a rule, for educational, scientific purposes, as well as to preserve the corpses of prominent figures.
 • Examples: doctor Nikolai Pirogov, politicians Vladimir Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Mao Zedong, Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il, etc.

Peat tanning

 • Conditions: swamp, peat bogs, soil with a high content of humic acids. Thanks to the ability of peat to preserve organic remains, the body can be preserved for centuries. Its covers take on a dark brown color and are compacted.
 • Examples: "Swamp people". More than a thousand bodies of ancient people have been found in the swamps of Europe. This is how scientists gained knowledge about their appearance, clothes, hairstyles, nutrition, etc.

Hello dear readers!

Our today's story is about a wonderful return after many decades, about the acquisition of faith and the unique capabilities of the human mind. Read about the "sleeping" Buryat monk Dasha Dorzho Itigelov.

Is meditation possible for over 85 years? Why is the state of the most famous imperishable monk in Buryatia today , Dashi Dorzho Itigelov , goes beyond understanding and modern scientific concepts? Is it possible to talk about the phenomenon of life after death?

The information presented in our article overturns the usual ideas about the structure of the world.

First, some historical facts

Buddhism on the territory of modern Buryatia goes back to the 2nd century BC. However, it is possible to speak about the massive penetration of religious teachings into Transbaikalia only since the 17th century.

After the state borders between Mongolia and Russia were officially defined in 1722, the Buryat tribes took their place in the Russian Empire.

The year 1741 was marked by another significant event for the followers of Buddha: the reigning Elizaveta Petrovna signed a decree in which Buddhism was recognized as the official state religion, and the lamas gained confirmation of their leading role within the confession.

Since the second half of XIX For centuries, schools and monasteries have become a stronghold of progressive spiritual and scientific development for the Buryats.

Demonic times for all religious confessions came with the events of 1917. Calling religion "opium", the 18th year of the last century was marked by the issuance of a law separating all religious movements from the state.

Buddhism was no exception in the struggle between the authorities and dissent. A large-scale destruction of the accumulated spiritual knowledge created over the centuries took place. More than 1,800 lamas, distinguished by a high level of education, were subjected to repression, hundreds were sent to prisons, to hard labor, and were shot. Buddhist temples turned into slaughterhouses, cynically destroyed.

The next period of the thaw and the beginning of the revival falls on the post-war period, when in the 46th year of the last century, permission was obtained to open two datsans: Ivolginsky in Buryatia and Aginsky in the Aginsky national district of the Chita region.

The period since 1991 can be safely called the second real revival of the Buddhist movement in Russia.

What do we know about Itigelov

Pandito Khambo Lama XII headed the Buddhist confession in the Buryat territory from 1911 to 1917. His image is the subject of worship not only of the Buryat branch of the teaching, but of the entire Buddhist community as a whole.

He is an imperishable monk in Buryatia who has been in a state of meditation for over 85 years. His life, departure and return are shrouded in mystery. But let's talk about everything in order.

Path stages

According to the surviving data, Dashi Dorzho Itigelov was born in May 1852 and orphaned early. At the age of five, he was adopted by a farm laborer in one of the families, however, the owners, seeing in the boy exceptional talents, contributed to the child's ending up in Aninsky datsan.

Starting at the age of fifteen and for as long as 23 years, Itigelov comprehended the subtleties of Buddhist teachings, Tibetan knowledge in medicine and other sciences. From 1898 he taught the philosophy of Buddhism on his own, reaching the level of a lama.

The year 1911 was marked by an important event: Itigelov was elected Pandito Khambo Lama XII, becoming the head of the Buddhist movement in Eastern Siberia. In this post, he is known for his exceptional patriotic feelings both towards the people of Buryatia and towards Russia as a whole.

So, during the First World War, under his leadership, hospitals were opened to treat the wounded, and the charitable society he created helped to collect money, food, medical equipment for the front. For the displayed patriotism, he was deservedly presented to the imperial awards of that time.

"To find an outlet in eternity, one must constantly help people." (Dashi Dorzho Itigelov).

last years of life

There is a version that the reason why Itigelov had to leave his leadership post in 1917 was illness.

However, according to the surviving testimonies, he foresaw the coming of Soviet power, the upcoming repressions, persecutions, destruction that the followers of the Buddha would have to face, and made the decision, abandoning the fast, to begin preparations for his upcoming revival, continuing to simply serve in the monastery. .

Having reached 75 years old, Pandita Khambo Lama XII Dashi Dorzho Itigelov per day full moon in June 1927 he gathered his disciples and, after leaving them instructions, plunged into samadhi and attained nirvana.

Lama's testament

Leaving, Itigelov secured a promise from his disciples that they would fulfill his last instructions during their lifetime. The instructions concerned how to dispose of the Master's body:

 • When the lama reached the level of nirvana, it was necessary to place him in a cedar tree sarcophagus, keeping the lotus position habitual for meditation, and to bury him.
 • It is the duty of the students to periodically monitor the state of the lama's body. Specific dates were named in the 57th and 73rd year of the last century. If, when examining the body, there were signs of decay of the flesh, the body had to be given fire.
 • It was necessary to open the cedar tomb exactly 75 years later. It was after this period that the Great Lama appointed his return.

The burial was checked at the direction of the head of the Buddhist movement of that time twice, in 1955 and in 1973. Each time there was no change in Itigelov's condition.

Return

After the specified period, the will of the monk was fulfilled. In 2002, on September 10, after the necessary legal procedures, a wooden sarcophagus was removed from the ground. To the surprise of all those present, who expected to see something similar to the mummy of a monk, it was discovered that the lama continues to remain in the same lotus position as a living person who has been meditating for many years.

His skin, hair, nail phalanges, all parts of his body looked as if he was in a state similar to hibernation. All joints remained mobile, there were no signs of decomposition of biological tissues. After 75 years, the amazing return of Pandito Hambo Lama XII happened, as he promised.

Monk's unsolved mystery

The best forensic scientists and medical experts were involved in the study of the Itigelov phenomenon. The research lasted more than three years. The biological material that was obtained: areas of the skin, nail phalanges and hair of the monk, were subjected to detailed study using the latest modern technology.

The conclusions made by the experts can be summarized as follows:

 • there are no signs of body embalming or artificial preservation;
 • all internal and external organs, sense organs are preserved, signs of their destruction are completely absent;
 • spectral analysis of tissue samples did not reveal data characteristic of the destruction of protein molecules, the tissues looked as if the monk was still alive;
 • skin turgor is preserved, all joints are mobile, there are no specific smells accompanying the processes of flesh decomposition;
 • the body turned out to be capable of maintaining and storing heat up to 34 degrees, while the temperature of the surrounding air at the time of the measurements ranged from 17 to 23 degrees.

Scientists are faced with an inexplicable phenomenon from the point of view of modern science. It is still unknown how one can call the state in which the monk is, because at the cellular level the presence of some semblance of signs of vital activity was reliably confirmed.

Based on the scientific research, scientists formulated a hypothesis about the great role of thought, consciousness, unexplored possibilities of the brain.

"Be clean amid the sea of mud of a dangerous time of trouble ..."

These prophetic words of Pandito Hambo Lama XII sound like an admonition to the modern world community. The monk is the author of more than 50 philosophical treatises, however, the best textbook he left for the edification of all living is his body, which demonstrates the power of thought and spirit over flesh.

Dear readers, if you liked our article, share it with your friends on your social networks.

10 On September 2002, the body of the 12th Pandito Hambo Lama was lifted out of the ground, and it was discovered that the Hambo Lama literally lives after death: he has warm hands, he sweats and even opens his eyes. Leading scientists and religious figures have tried to explain this phenomenon.

Ethis review tells about the imperishable body of the Buryat Lama, which has remained “alive” for 80 years.

Overview

Lama Dasha Dorzho Itigelov

During the life of Khambo Itigelov predicted the events of the 20-30s of the last century

The imperishable Khambo Lama Itigelov was a Buryat Nostradamus. At least, this is what the researchers of the phenomenon of the imperishable lama, who gathered at an international conference in Ivolginsky datsan Buryatia, reports IA "Baikalinform".

Buryat theologians have found a book written by the lama allegorically in the old Mongolian language interspersed with Tibetan and Sanskrit. In two years, it was possible to decipher a small part of the message - in which the events of the 20-30s of the last century are predicted.

It's just some kind of Buryat Nostradamus. And if we manage to decipher the message in its entirety, I think it will be the greatest knowledge for all of us, '' emphasized a senior researcher at the Russian State humanities Institute Tatiana Strizhova.

Decryption work continues.

Lama Dasha Dorzho Itigelov, being already a deep old man, sat down in a lotus and left his body at the beginning of the last century, telling his disciples to bury him, but to take him out of the grave again after 70 years. The disciples followed his instructions and now, about 80 years after his “death,” Lama Itigelov is still sitting in a lotus in the main dugan (temple) of the Ivolginsky datsan.

The imperishable body of the former Head of Russian Buddhists Lama Dasha Dorzho Itigelov, who died 80 years ago, is one of the cases of energy-informational transformation the highest level practices of self-development of the Spirit.

Medical experts are shocked: Itigelov has all the signs of a living body: soft skin without signs of decay, preserved nose, ears, closed eyes (the eyeball did not leak out), fingers and elbow joints are mobile. Even the "live" smell remained.

The renowned chiropractor Alexei Azheev, who has been observing the body since 2002, determined the pulsation of the brain. According to him, in the living - the cerebral hemispheres give out 3-4 rhythms per minute, and in the motionless Itigelov - 1.

Once every six months, the Lama even, as if alive, gains and loses half a kilogram in weight.

BUDDHA ITIGELOV

A miracle not to be interpreted. That's why it is a miracle. It cannot be described. The report on the trip to the Ivolginsky Datsan should be limited to this conclusion. Mission Impossible. Merry sparrows were flying in the temple. They played chasing each other. And what words can I use to designate your absolute confidence that if a bird sits on the forehead of the Buddhist lama Dasha Dorzho Itigelov, who died 80 years ago, he, smiling, will brush it off with his hand? Here he is sitting right in front of you, supported by nothing and no one and, contrary to all the laws of biology and physics, physiology and gravity, with a straight back, in the lotus position. What words should be used to designate the vibrations of your soul and thousands of other souls, each mercilessly bringing to Itigelov - its own misfortunes and obsessions, passions and complexes, its private, secret, compact hell, in the hope that it will help, correct, and pull out?

The most perfect thing about people is that they die one day. The most important achievement of mankind is the awareness of human mortality, this is the cornerstone of Western civilization. From the understanding of its inevitability, its essence, the whole of European philosophy, all the great books and deeds, all those regulating and restraining mechanisms that have not allowed us to kill each other have arisen. All the best that Western civilization has created is from death, from the fact that we can clearly think about it.

And now Itigelov appears. With his, shocking us, relationship with death. Buried in 1927. In 2002, it was dug up. For 75 years, his body has not even been touched by decay. This year will be five years since Itigelov is with us. Here. It doesn't change. He has not old-fashioned warm hands, many days of stubble. He sweats. Physiological processes take place in his body. Scientists testify that in many respects it gives the impression of the body of a living person. There is no explanation for this.

Going to the datsan, he agreed on the time when Itigelov's body could be seen and bowed to him. And I was told about the time of our personal MEETING. Yes, for Buddhists, death is only one of the stages of personality development. But still. The Buryat miracle takes place not in the Middle Ages, when priests ruled over minds, but now. When people have "Dom-2" on TV, elections of people's deputies and genetically modified food. When, it would seem, everything is clear with this world. And here it turns out: death - as nothingness - no. A person, if he wants, can conquer death. Not a new idea, of course, but now well-reasoned. The argument is here - go to Buryatia. On the patch in front of the Ivolginsky Datsan, find out who and how to contact. Here, ask for a blue hadak (a silk towel folded in half or a ribbon offered as a gift), and find out how to present it. Ask where the shireete (abbot) lives. They will show you.

However, it is possible without these conventions. Especially for all of you - these are the days when you can meet with Itigelov. This year - April 26, May 2 and 31, July 18, September 15, November 1, December 4. And then already in 2008 - February 6. Every year, meetings with the holy lama take place on major Buddhist holidays. And their dates vary depending on the lunar calendar. Consider only - the number of pilgrims is growing. In 2002, 3 thousand people came to Itigelov, in 2003 - 20 thousand, the next year again an order of magnitude more - 200 thousand, in 2005 - 350 thousand, last year there were already more than half a million. The line stretches into the valley for a kilometer, the lamas say that Itigelov himself regulates it.

The Buddha has a grand-niece - Yanzhima Vasilyeva. Her great-grandmother was the elder sister of the lama. Yanzhima in 2002 created the information center "Together with Itigelov", and in 2004 - the Itigelov Institute. Smiling and energetic, talking about her relative, she says that most of all she is “afraid to brainwash people”, therefore, in principle, she does not insist on anything. She is scared that Itigelov is turning into a brand. But, of course, the lack of PR for this brand is the best PR. I still managed to get an answer as to who she considers the Khambo Lama. That was hard. "We, out of our humility, do not say that Buddha has come." As for the Ivolginsky lamas, they are silent, like partisans. Or change the subject.

The incredible is obvious

The impression that “keepers” (key chains) with the face of Itigelov in all Ulan-Ude cars. Including the cars of those who breathe evenly to Buddhism, and in general to the assumption that there is something else besides this life. However, there are no other material signs of the Itigelov cult. Buryat Buddhists are still holding on, do not cross the line beyond which the show, the “Feast of St. Jorgen” and the triumph of market values can begin.

Ivolginsky Datsan - 36 versts west of the city. Here, on five hectares of the valley, there is a complex of Buddhist temples (dugans), a monastery, since 1991 - Buddhist University “Dashi Choinhorlin”. Now 140 young men study in it, they live with lamas in huts. Stoves are everywhere. The boiler room only heats the main dugan and the greenhouse with the sacred Bodhi tree. Life is ascetic, the clothes of lamas and students differ only in hats. Itigelov said that Buddhism is not a religion, not science or philosophy. This is freedom. So they are torn from our world of suffering and things.

Taking pity on the pilgrims from Krasnoyarsk, Tuva, Mongolia, who arrived a day before the appointed meeting, the lamas are allowed to see Itigelov and I in advance. You cannot take pictures. There are not many people, everyone was able to approach the Khambo Lama three times, touch his hands. The next day, riot police were on duty at the entrance to the temple to restrain the onslaught. And after a few hours of worship, they decided to cover Itigelov with glass, and people, seeking blessings, no longer touched the body, but the khadaks from his hands, released through the glass.

What did you ask for? This is none of my business - someone else's innermost, but the gaze stopped on a bag with children's things, which a middle-aged man was putting to the hands and knees of the Khambo Lama. The couple in front has a photograph of a soldier against a background of mountains. Someone puts a bag of sweets to Itigelov's hand.

Someone thinks that Itigelov smiled at him, someone saw how he opened his eyes - they are dark green. The woman with whom they were talking, it seemed that he leaned towards her, bent down, - she was led, almost collapsed into a swoon. People are crying. They laugh. Reactions also depend on the holiday when people go to the saint. Someone even recoils from the energy of Itigelov, it blows away like a wave. Another can remember what happened to him when he met the lama, only after a few hours.

They say that you need to ask for one thing. Yanzhima did not comment on this belief, she just smiled and started talking about a complex spiritual phenomenon. But, I interrupt, people go to him like a magician, for the fulfillment of desires. And I ask you to confirm the stories about the miraculous rescues of those who bowed to Itigelov, in car accidents and even plane crashes, about the healing of the sick. Everything is just like that. They leave the temple, leaving crutches. A well-known Moscow businessman working in the food and processing industry survived a terrible accident. At that moment I saw the Hambo Lama. I flew in again - to give money for the erection of Itigelov's palace, with his large donation the construction began. Anatoly Chubais, impressed by his meeting with the great lama, freed the datsan from electricity bills. And then there was an attempt on his life. After some time, Yanzhima talked with the head of Kalmykia, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. According to him, Chubais, after the attack and his rescue, first of all remembered Itigelov.

They say that Itigelov positively corrects karma to everyone who comes to him. Rashid Nurgaliev, a few months after visiting the Khambo Lama, became the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Yuriy Yekhanurov a year later became the Prime Minister of Ukraine. Sergei Ivanov, who came to the datsan during his vacation, is now listed among the successors and appointed First Deputy Prime Minister. I don’t know if they wanted this by touching the Hambo Lama, and who would benefit from this “improvement of karma”. According to Buddhist monks, the three most terrible things that can happen to a person are beauty, fame and wealth.... Consequently, the Khambo Lama helped all these gentlemen find themselves, if not up to their ears in shit (about beauty - a moot point), then up to their throats? Or is that the idea?

Nobody knows what people come here with and with what they leave. Surely after all, every bastard goes. And crazy. And the benefactors of the human race. In Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker, it was at least problematic to get to the room where the most sincere and painful things came true, one had to go through police cordons and a system of traps. And here - no difficulties. Come and go ask. In the providence of Tarkovsky, the hope was expressed that “there cannot be an individual such hatred or, say, such love that would spread to all of humanity ... Well, money, women, well, there is revenge - so that the boss could be moved by a car ”. Probably. Still, it’s good that it didn’t come true a little, God wasn’t tired of us, he didn’t give us a mysterious zone, but the sage Itigelov. Who surely knows what he's doing. And yet, when asking for something, think well so that it doesn't turn out sideways for you. And in general - should you go?

Itigelov's defense

About cordons and traps. Talking to the parishioners, I realized that at some point it was not me alone who had a shameful desire to put metal detectors at the entrance to the dugan, and to enclose the datsan with a three-meter fence around the perimeter. Just in case. From the crazy bombers. From officials who are able to fit a plane of the Ministry of Emergencies with a sterile capsule behind the llama. From those who believe that we live once, from unrecognized geniuses who dream of the Nobel Prize. And then Sergei Ivanov, who was on vacation and went to the datsan, was guarded by militiamen stationed along the entire length of the 36-kilometer road, on both sides, and the one to whom he was driving and who is of no less value to mankind than the respected First Deputy Prime Minister, they are not guarded in any way.

Of course, Itigelov will protect himself. Of course, the lamas are right in believing that they have no right to refuse someone to meet with him. But still.

Only Yanzhim tries to investigate the people who come to Itigelov. She always gives them questionnaires. There are only three restrained questions. Where and how many times did you come to the meeting? There are people who visit Itigelov all the time - every time there is access, someone comes for the 3rd, 5th, 9th time. They fly from Moscow (I would not have noticed this delegation, if it were not for the not very famous face of a modestly dressed woman, a State Duma deputy), from Europe, Africa. From Japan, Korea.

A superficial content analysis of the answers to the question "What do you feel when you meet the Khambo Lama in person?" shows that, according to the degree of repetition, words are arranged in this order. From the most used to the least: calmness, lightness, peace, surprise, delight, admiration, hope, spirituality, awe, gratitude, relief of the soul, ecstasy, adrenaline rush. Also, from single statements: “such a feeling is impossible to tell”, “a little incomprehensible feeling of calmness and lightness”, “trembling in the body when I touched his hands”, “there was a feeling of community”, “special feelings, still incomprehensible”, “ anxiety and excitement pass, ”“ I want all living beings to feel good and calm. But at the same time I feel a sense of pity ”.

From the answers to the question “What has changed in you after meeting with Khambo Lama?”: “I am always very worried and forget what I wanted to say to him”; “The outlook on the future has changed”; “I think”; “Everything is fine”; "All goes to good"; “My life has changed completely, my health and well-being have improved”; “I value every meeting very much. The outlook and views on many actions in my life have changed, there is no fuss ”; "Everything has changed for the better, everything is coming true." They write about the car they bought, about getting rid of cancer.

What did I feel? Naturally, when everything took place, the excitement passed. Only then, you know, somewhere in the area of the heart and a little higher, warmth and peace spilled over. And at night he dreamed of me.

... All this can be tried to understand only by turning off the brain. Moreover, the scientists threw up their hands. Buddhists will probably agree with Blessed Augustine, who said that we "understand to the extent that we love."

Itigelov and love

About love. And o scientists. Professor Boris Bolshakov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of the Dubna University, asked how the body's energy balance is ensured, what it “eats” with a shortage of light (Itigelov is constantly on the second floor of the dugan, where there is no artificial lighting, but natural obvious flaw)?

The professor suggested that Itigelov receives energy through a stream of frequencies. The fact is that the lamas read a prayer that is in tune with the prayer of love twice a day. "Any spoken word is a vibration, any prayer is a stream of frequencies." Let's omit the professorial formulas and graphs. The essence of his hypothesis is as follows: in order to fill the body with love and harmony and achieve the state of a standing wave, the frequency of the brain must be equal to one hertz. In Itigelov, Bolshakov suggests, this is exactly the case, and this frequency is equal to the frequency of the work of the brain of an infant in the mother's womb at the age of 2-3 months from the moment of conception. Recent studies, by the way, have shown that when a person reads or hears a prayer, the frequency of oscillation of brain cells in him becomes the same as in a baby.

The pendulum with which Bolshakov worked on Itigelov reacted to it with the same oddities as when examining some children.

I learned all this from Yanzhima later. In the meantime, sitting on a long bench, I listened to the lamas. Sanskrit, in which melodious prayers were offered, is not understandable to parishioners, but is considered the language most understandable to the gods. It is as mesmerizing as the babbling of children who have just begun to speak, the reading of poetry by your child at his first matinee in kindergarten. The main dugan of the Ivolginsky datsan generally resembles a large children's room inside - with the manner of local icon painting, the faces of deities, their special plasticity. Ornaments, rich colors. If it is green, then it is saturated, lively green, if it is blue, then it is warm, deep. And these copper plates, tambourines, these llama hats, their smiles. These 15 miracles of Buddha Shakyamuni are childhood, in its pure, distilled form!

Then I still pestered with questions to Yanzhima and was convinced that both my associations and the fact that Itigelov wanted to return exactly here, to this temple, were not accidental. Yanzhima said that in the last years before he left, Khambo Lama was very fond of playing with children. She documented the testimony of Zoya Galsanova, born in 1938, who well remembered her mother's stories about Itigelov. “As he got older, his body was greatly reduced in size. He was very fond of children and told them: "You put me in your cart and carry me." When those, playing, ran away, he said: "Leaving me, do not run far." It was very surprising: how such a big llama could easily sit in a children's cart to be carried by children and watch them play. ”

When I was leaving Ulan-Ude, and the plane pierced the area of clouds, and I no longer saw how far below it was snowing, how it fell on lonely trees, I suddenly felt dizzy, and suddenly I clearly understood that I, like others who came to him, this little dry man, who became a Buddha, was driving around him in a circle. Entering the datsan, you go around it according to the movement of the Sun (clockwise, if you like). Go around the stupas. Inside the dugan, you move the same way. Around the cleansing fire that was just being burned. And, as in a child's game, you cannot turn around at the fire.

And Yanzhima constantly mentioned the wheel of Samsara. So inside myself I was satisfied with this explanation: Itigelov carried his cross of chosenness around the circle of life, returning to his mother's womb. Returning to his mother, about whom he, an orphan, could not help but miss. After all, all the great religions call us to become like children.

Be that as it may, there is no scientific explanation for the Itigelov phenomenon. And is it possible? He, apparently, should be sought in a completely different area. Children know exactly which one. It's a pity he didn't take the younger one with him, he would have liked that they still celebrate here New Year, Christmas trees in the squares, everyone gives gifts to each other. He would have told me everything about Itigelov.

The Buryats calculated exactly - up to 5 years old, children are like gods, they have not yet been imposed on knowledge and habits, which are good to get rid of later by meditating.

God lives with children in every church. Well, or at least they believe in Santa Claus. Falling asleep on the plane, I remembered how my son asked me:

Let the tree always, always burn.
- Let.
- And when we go to bed - let it.
- So we will fall asleep and will not see whether it is on fire or not.
- Let it burn anyway!

Everything in this world was invented by someone, the question is not who. The question is in us, in the body that is responsible for our faith. Has he atrophied - after all, what happens to people is what they believe in. And everything that surrounds them is like their desires.

You can replace God with money, faith - with happiness (judging by the questionnaires, he is asked most of all from Itigelov). Could be so. But what's the point?

Remember the pity questionnaire. One can be sad - the only respondent said this. And you can rejoice - after all, after all someone said! He felt sorry for him, who felt sorry for us. Yes, pitying. Why else would he leave his body to us? After all, he did it deliberately, on purpose - he wrote about what is happening to him today, leaving 80 years ago.

What else could his message be? Would we delve into his manuscript? He calculated everything correctly, and this is a chance for those who fly to the moon and who split the atom not to go off completely. His body is like a planetary antibiotic so that our souls do not rot.

And we must also feel sorry for Yanzhima. And lamas. Scientists are pressing on them. Why, it is not clear. Do you want to "sit down" on financial investments in the problem of immortality? Make the other two-legged immortal? And then: with what place, with what organ are they going to solve the "Itigelov phenomenon"? Measure body temperature? What for? How will they measure the strength of the spirit? What can they understand about it? We know what they can do in principle. Didn't they put their hands to this civilization, aren't they watching gloomily now as it destroys the planet? Or am I confusing something? And it was they, the Nobel laureates, who thought of going forward, waving a twig in front of them so as not to crush the ant, and thanks to this, hundreds of thousands of people behave in this way? By the way, on the spot near the datsan, where trade is taking place, you can buy oriental slippers with upturned toes so as not to injure the earth. Trying them on, an adult man, also like me, from Krasnoyarsk, and experiencing the same cultural shock, noticed that all our science “really rests” in comparison with such concern for the planet, with the idea of folding the socks of slippers like this.

There is hope. On the days of Itigelov's meetings with the people, he breaks out in sweat and puts on 100 grams of weight. This is Love.

We did the right thing in childhood that we believed in fairy tales. That's how it is.

From an interview with "Novaya" XXIV Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev:

People were not ready for Itigelov's arrival. And today, after four and a half years, they are still not ready. When meeting with Itigelov, 95 percent solve personal problems ... There is a Russian stereotype: there is no prophet on their own land. It is so accepted in our country that all smart people appear from the outside, only they are allowed to teach us how to live. To say that the arrival of Khambo Lama Itigelov is similar to the coming of Buddha Shakyamuni, our language will not turn, it is scary, there is no spirit. Foolishness is enough, but no spirit. Although this issue should be considered carefully.

Aren't you afraid that the body of Itigelov, declared a Buddhist shrine, may suffer the fate of the shrine of another people - Altai - the mummy of Princess Ukok? The sacred plateau for the Altaians was excavated, the princess was taken out. There are many such examples. The year 1998 has not been forgotten either, when, against your will, the President of Buryatia authorized the export of the Atlas of Tibetan Medicine to the USA. From the world where money decides everything, one day they will bring you a paper from the Kremlin. Or without any paper they will persistently ask. Someone will want Nobel Prize for a breakthrough in the study of immortality, or someone wants to put Itigelov in his home church. After all, this is a sensation for the whole world. They will not regret the money.

This is primarily the value of the Buryat Buddhists. I think the Atlas was a good lesson for the officials, for the President of Buryatia Potapov, who gave the command to beat up the lamas. Well, if someone nevertheless has such a desire, Itigelov simply will not be found. Officials will come and ask: where is he? And Itigelov will be where he needs to be.

Ulan-Ude - Krasnoyarsk

Now Itigelov's body was transferred to the Ivolginsky datsan as a sacred relic. The lamas take care of him, albeit in a rather uncomplicated way - sometimes they brush away the dust. Five years ago, the phenomenon of Itigelov shocked the whole world, but since then there have been no serious public events on this occasion. And on July 2, the first international conference "Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov Phenomenon" took place in Buryatia. The version of the origin of this miracle was presented to the general public for the first time.

On the opening day of the conference, the heat was sweltering. More than 130 participants of the forum gathered in the main Buddhist temple of Russia - Ivolginsky datsan - in order to explain the phenomenon of the imperishable body of Khambo Lama Dasha Dorzho Itigelov by the forces of two sciences - secular and Buddhist.

The conference was attended by the patriarchs of the Buddhist Church, religious scholars, journalists, ordinary lay people from Norway, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Russian cities. “Khambo Lama Itigelov miraculously left his bodily assembly of five skandhas unchanged,” said Damba Ayushev, the Khambo Lama of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia, a member of the Public Chamber under the President of the Russian Federation, opening the forum. - The moment of truth has come for the first time. We will decide how to deal with the phenomenon. Our conference will go down in history as the first attempt to explain the phenomenon of the precious body of Khambo Lama Itigelov. "

Then the head of the Buddhists of Russia Damba Ayushev voiced why the body of Khambo Lama Dasha Dorzho Itigelov was not subjected to decay. In the 20s of the last century, the 12th Khambo Lama performed a ritual of investing 5 sacred vessels for the spirits of the earth, the owners of the area. At the same time, he never touched the ground, which is why the great element protects his body. “The Hambo Lama asked the believers not to lower him to the ground during the ritual (during the ritual, the disciples carried him in their arms). This is one of the reasons that his body has not changed, ”said Damba Ayushev. And thus, according to Buddhists, the Hambo Lama attained the comprehension of Emptiness - the great reality of all phenomena. Therefore, leaving life, he entered a state of meditation and purified his body. And now, even after death, it remains.

ITIGELOV and EMPTY

Few want to know the truth about Itigelov, which breaks the usual picture of the world. People judge by themselves. It is important for them to prove to themselves that everyone is the same, that it is possible to live only the way they are. People would be pleased to hear that Pushkin shot himself in duels "for the sake of image." That the New Testament was writing advertising Jerusalem for tourists. That Buddha is just an effective PR project ...

Russia is not alive because of oil prices. And "Gazprom" has nothing to do with it, and even V.V.Putin. We are saved by old women who pray in churches, lighting candles to the Mother of God for their last pennies. But Russia is leaving the Far East and Siberia, the Russians are also leaving Buryatia. There are less and less Orthodox attendants here. Why hasn't this land been torn apart for resources by China, Japan and the United States yet? Buryat lamas know, of course, the answer, but they do not like to rant. They only mention that the XII Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov, taking office, swore allegiance to Emperor Nicholas II. And everything that Itigelov did is sacred for Buryat Buddhists.

Not Buddhists, but State Duma deputies, discussing the phenomenon of Itigelov, said that Russia owes him both the safety of its eastern borders and the stabilization of the economy.

First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov, who came to the Ivolginsky Datsan, said that Itigelov "continues to serve Russia," and Vice Admiral Valery Dorogin, a Duma deputy, called him "a component of national security." For a long time, scientists from the Dubna University, who have been researching the Itigelov phenomenon for a long time, stated that the mental body of the Khambo Lama extends over 18-20 thousand kilometers. And they connected with this power sacred phenomena that are increasingly manifested in the territory of ethnic Buryatia.

It is useless to refute or argue the validity of such statements, people have always looked for a certain “fifth element”, a magical link in the chain of things and events that can save and preserve here in this world. Rational reason means nothing here, because it is helpless. I’ll just fix it: when Itigelov returned to us, there really was a kind of calming down of Russia - the end of the war in Chechnya, local civil wars in large cities for property. Oil prices again. And why did the president suddenly take the pipe away from Baikal, and was it the president? As for the persecution of oligarchs, Itigelov warned in his message to his descendants: “Wealth, madly collected and accumulated, will turn into a special poison”.

Itigelov's earthly life

Since we are going to talk about things that people who are not familiar with Buddhism will seem unrealistic, I will tell you right away about my sources of information. Yanzhima Vasilyeva, the grand-niece of Khambo Lama Itigelov and director of the Institute named after him, talking about the earthly journey of his great relative, relies on the testimonies of fellow countrymen collected by her, fifty archival sources, state and monastery. She immediately warned that there are three versions of Itigelov's biography: from birth, 1852, to 1895. All are archived confirmed, but contradict each other.

Information was also received from Ganzhur Lama, rector of the Buddhist University, Bimba Lama, the keeper of the precious body of Itigelov, and XXIV Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev. Each of them brought bright colors to the story of Itigelov's earthly lives.

So, it is believed that Dashi Dorzho Itigelov was born in 1852. Nevertheless, the lamas suggest that the boy was born immediately at the age of five. Nobody knows or knew who his mother was. The Buryats have always had a very careful attitude to the pedigree, they remembered and recorded up to 30 generations. True, in the male line, women did not fit in. And the family of the father is known, about the mother - zero information. The boy grew up an orphan - a unique case, since all the children of the Buryats who were left without parents were brought up by relatives. The advantage of life is by birth. Khambo Lama Ayusheev believes that Itigelov is of unearthly origin.

The boy was herding other people's livestock and said that he would be a Khambo lama. They laughed at him. One day he appeared astride a bull with a stake in his hand. There was a human skull on the stake. The lamas became aware of what had happened, they predicted a special fate and great destiny for the child. Indeed, everything was a foregone conclusion. As a youth, he went to study at the Aninsky datsan, and his teachers were people, for whom, when they were just born, Tibetan lamas specially came. These children were earthly incarnations of the Buddha of Longevity and the Buddha of Wisdom. The monks of the Aninsky datsan responded with a polite refusal: "The gods themselves know where to be born." His teacher was also the shirete (abbot) of the Aninsky datsan, the earthly embodiment of the Buddha of compassion. He assigned the student a salary of 5 rubles a month and ordered the residents of the surrounding villages to pay this money in turn. For more than 15 years, residents of Oybont also paid a fee for the release of Dasha Dorzho from military service - he was considered a native of the Cossack estate.

And when in 1911 Itigelov was ordered to become the head of the Lamaist clergy of Eastern Siberia and Transbaikalia, all the obstacles to his election were suddenly resolved. Many people around - from lamas to the governor of Eastern Siberia - are doing things that help the fate of Itigelov to come true. Ayusheev: “These are incredible things. It seems that everything and everyone was subordinated to the fulfillment of the mission entrusted to Itigelov. "

According to the testimony of the lamas, during his lifetime Itigelov said that he knew about his three reincarnations. So, for believers, he was indisputably the reincarnation of the first Khambo Lama Zayayev, the founder of Buddhism in Russia. Zayayev was born in 1702. He lived for 75 years and, leaving, promised his students to return. In 1852, 75 years after Zayayev's death, Itigelov was born. He also lives 75 years. And it comes back to us again in 75 years. That is, the number 75 is repeated four times. When Itigelov took office as Khambo Lama, the parishioners of the Tsongol datsan, which was flooded during floods, asked him to determine a new place for the construction of the temple. He indicated the place, saying that Zayayev's bell and vajra were buried there. And there his personal belongings were indeed found and subsequently a new datsan was built.

Two years ago, Lama Zhargal Dugdanov discovered a previously unknown manuscript of Itigelov among thousands of publications stored in Devazhin-Dugan of the Ivolginsky Datsan. On five sheets in Tibetan, he talks about 12 of his reincarnations over several millennia: five in India, five in Tibet and two in Buryatia. Itigelov tells how in a past life, being Zayayev, he alternately presents offerings in the form of gold, silver and coral to the Dalai Lama, Panchen Lama and Buddhist deities and receives information from them about his previous lives. Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev: “If there were even one inaccuracy in this book, he would never have been able to achieve an eternal body.”

Nicholas II and the royal family revered Itigelov (Buryat lamas, let me remind you, healed the crowned persons), he had many Russian awards. The native people, the Buryats, began to worship him during their lifetime. In 1903, when he was appointed shiretete of the Yangazhinsky datsan, he donated all his fortune for the construction of new dugans in honor of the soldiers who died in Russo-Japanese War... Three hundred Yangazhinsky Cossacks received his blessing, going to the front of the First World War, and none of them died, all returned home. Itigelov creates the "General Buryat Society" - to help the front. Having united 120 religious and secular persons, Itigelov collected money for the wounded and their families, organized hospitals, and sent emch-lamas to the front-line hospitals. For Orthodox Easter in 1915, soldiers received parcels from Buddhist Buryatia.

Itigelov had no illusions about Soviet power. In contrast to colleagues, who hoped that the Buddhist religion would make it possible to peacefully live with the new regime. Alas, the lamas soon found out that the Soviet government viewed everything from the position of two extremes: the eternal and the impermanent, matter and spirit, materialism and idealism. And the communists chose one of the extremes (we, as heirs of the Bolsheviks, are also trying to understand: Itigelov is alive or dead, we cannot understand any other state). Buddhists, on the other hand, profess the principle of the middle, free from extreme judgments: no love, no hate - only compassion.

It did not work to coexist with the Bolsheviks, some of the lamas left for Tibet, others were awaited by arrests and executions - everything, as Itigelov had predicted. Buddhist shrines were destroyed. The Yangazhinsky datsan was erased into dust - the steppe was white from it, from scraps of manuscripts. And in Aninsky datsan, in the ruins of the blown up central dugan, a slaughterhouse was arranged.

But all this happened after Itigelov left. He himself did not try to emigrate, he said about the commissars: "They will not take me." And so it happened.

There are many legends about the arrests of Buryat yogis. The NKVD many times came for one of the lamas. Guzhi Dashinima sat in plain sight and read, but they did not see him. When they got tired of these games of hide and seek, they began to threaten the lama's disciples, and then he decided to surrender himself to the new government. However, soon the guards found him dead - the lama, entering samadhi, left the body. Ganzhur Lama told me: in those days it was still in the order of things - lamas flew, passed through walls, instantly covered enormous distances, walked and rode horses on water, like on dry land.

One can treat the stories about the supernatural powers of the Buryat yogis as legends, but Yanzhima refers, for example, to the preserved official police report. It follows from it that in May 1917 (revolutionary outrages had already occurred) the returned front-line soldiers in the Tamchinsky datsan staged a brawl and drunkenness. Itigelov, having learned about this, rushed to the datsan - on a horse he rode on the surface of the White Lake (now called Sulfatnoye) as if along a paved road. Then he jumped from the steep bank of Goose Lake, cut the water surface and rushed straight to the datsan along the dry bottom. When he jumped ashore, the waters closed behind him. The rising waves washed away some of the brawlers gathered in the datsan and cleared the desecrated territory. Those who remained, seeing the Khambo Lama, fled in fear.

Itigelov, a practitioner of the highest level, they say, could instantly move: as soon as the door was closed behind him, he immediately found himself a kilometer away from it, turning into a point.

In 1917, Itigelov left the post of Pandito Khambo Lama. He wrote a message to his descendants, it was discovered only in 1998 in the library of the Ivolginsky Datsan. He knew he would return in an eternal body. On June 15, 1927, Itigelov, in a state of meditation, plunged into nirvana. Before that, he turned to the monks with a request to read him a special prayer - good wishes to the outgoing. She is accompanied by the departed, so that the soul that leaves the body finds its karmic purpose. The embarrassed disciples could not decide on this prayer with a living Teacher, then Itigelov began it himself. The monks were forced to catch her. In the lotus position, in which the Khambo Lama stopped breathing, the body was buried in a bumkhan (cedar box) in the Huhe-Zurkhen area. Before finally leaving, he gave clear instructions on how to bury him and when to visit - the first time in 30 years.

Life after death

A group of lamas raised the body of Itigelov in 1955 - two years earlier than he bequeathed. The procedure was forced - a strong storm in the village of Zun Orongoy tore off the roofs, and the head of the Buddhist clergy decided to carry out the necessary ceremonies before the named date. Convinced of the immutability of Itigelov's body, the lamas changed his clothes and boomkhan. The same ritual was performed in 1973. Then it was associated with a severe flood, which cut off the Ivolginsky district from Ulan-Ude for a month.

The current guardian of Itigelov's body, Bimba Lama, is very benevolent, but not particularly talkative, believing that only after his departure to another world it will be possible to disclose “his secret”. Nevertheless, he does not hide - he always kept in mind the idea that the current generation of lamas needs to find Itigelov's sarcophagus again and check the condition of his body. He saw in a dream his meeting with the great Teacher. The discovery of his message only confirmed the desire of the Bimba Lama. He found a person who knew exactly where the Teacher was buried - the grandfather of Amgalan Dabaev, born in 1914. On September 7, 2002, he pointed out to Ayusheev the place of burial. It is interesting that Pandito Khambo Lama independently went to this place, grandfather approached him by a different path.

The lamas received the consent of their relatives for exhumation, and on September 10 they dug up a box with the body covered with salt at a depth of one and a half meters. The forensic expert who was present, having examined the body, refused to do anything with it, since he had never seen such a thing. And he asked to create a commission. The lama was not only outwardly recognizable, all the signs of a living body were found in him: elastic skin without any signs of decay, his nose, ears, eyes (they were closed), fingers were preserved in place. All his joints were bent, including the smallest ones on the fingers. Teeth, hair, eyelashes, eyebrows are perfectly preserved. Itigelov was transferred to the Ivolginsky Datsan.

Bimba Tsybikov, born in 1910, candidate of historical sciences, who had seen the lama before 1927, was invited for identification. According to him, the Hamba Lama was short and very thin, and is now even smaller. But he immediately recognized the features of Itigelov's face - they did not change at all.

From the “act of external examination of the exhumed corpse”, signed on September 11 by three leading specialists of the republican center of forensic medical examination: “Any extraneous aromatic, resinous or putrefactive odors from the contents of the box and from the corpse were not determined ... The soft tissues of the corpse were of a tight elastic consistency; ... Hair on the head, nail plates are preserved. The posture of the corpse when removing the latter from the box is maintained without the use of any supporting and fixing devices. There were no traces indicating a previously performed opening of body cavities for the purpose of possible embalming or preservation, as well as any damage, traces of previous injuries, surgical interventions, diseases on the body of the corpse. ”

RSUH professor spoke about the results of the study of the imperishable body of the Buddhist Lama

Moscow. December 1. INTERFAX - The sensational results of studies of the imperishable body of a Buddhist lama were published on Wednesday in Moscow.

"Samples taken 75 years after the burial showed that the organic matter of the skin, hair and nails of this deceased person is no different from the organic matter of a living person.", - said the doctor of historical sciences, professor of the RSUH Galina Ershova.

This is the body of a famous religious figure named Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov, who was the head of Russian Buddhists from 1911 to 1927.

Before his death, he bequeathed to get his body out of the ground after about 30 years. Since then, the exhumation was carried out twice: in 1955 and 1973, and both times it turned out that the body of the hambo lama had not undergone decay. The same thing was discovered the third time, in 2002, after which the physicians decided to examine the body of D. Itigelov.

"His joints are bent, soft tissues are squeezed like a living person, and after opening the box in which the lama rested for 75 years, a fragrance began to emanate from there.", - said G. Ershova.

According to her, "this completely contradicts the idea of what should be with a person after 75 years of burial."

G. Ershova also noted that there has not been a single similar fact, not only in the history of Buddhism, but in the history of mankind in general.

The body of the deceased lama has been an object of worship for Buddhists of Buryatia for two years now. It is located in the Ivolginsky temple of Ulan-Ude, the main Buddhist temple in Russia.

The press conference also showed a fragment of an interview with the current head of the Buddhist traditional sangha (community) of Russia, Damba Ayusheyev, who noted that this phenomenon "gave believing Buddhists even more faith, and removed doubts from doubters, and made atheists think."

First, a sarcophagus was built for the lama from a double-glazed unit, then it was decided to order two refrigerators from the Krasnoyarsk Biryusa plant. However, they did not have to be plugged in - there is no need. Itigelov does not need to be protected from time. Glass only protects against dust. The monks say that sometimes it fogs up from the inside. Itigelova Bimba Lama dresses up, he also takes care of the body, wiping it with a towel. The clothes of the Khambo Lama were returned from the Museum of the History of Buryatia. New robes were made by a seamstress from the Upper Ivolga. Dr. Alexei Azheev says he felt Itigelov rolling with laughter as he and his colleagues measured his body. (In the datsan, you don't always understand who you are now being talked about - about a long-dead lama or about a living one. About whose emotions, whose laughter, whose lively reactions are being told.)

In December 2004, Viktor Zvyagin, Head of the Personality Identification Department of the Russian Center for Forensic Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, took part in the second examination. In addition, samples of hair, skin, which itself peeled off, and a cut of a nail from a llama's leg were transferred to Zvyagin for examination in Moscow. From his comments: “The condition of the tissues is such that it fully corresponds to the lifetime characteristics. We are not aware of such preservation cases, this is a kind of scientific mystery ... In many respects, the body of the Hamba Lama gives the impression of the body of a living person ... It was a big surprise for me when we did infrared spectroscopy of tissue samples and made sure that their composition was not much different from the composition of the same tissues of a living person ... There are no artificial methods known to science to maintain such a state of the body such as mummification, embalming, etc. in this case were not applied. There are no traces of dissection, removal of the brain and internal organs, we did not find any injections, cuts or similar influences ”. Military doctors have studied the nucleus of the cell by the nuclear resonance method. Their conclusion: the cell is alive and the nucleus is intact.

Adventures of the Soul

The Dalai Lama said that Itigelov had not yet reached the state of Buddha, but he was moving towards it. And Bogdo Gegen IX believes that the lama has already gone beyond samsara, having stopped rebirth. Meanwhile, people who have been observing the llama over the years note that his hair has grown and darkened and his skin color has changed somewhat - in some places it has turned brown, somewhere it has become golden. When I asked if this is a precedent in Buddhism, Ganzhur Lama answered negatively. Attempts to preserve the bodies of teachers have been known since the Middle Ages. Having decided to leave this life, they can plunge into a state of samadhi and purify the body so that it remains after death.

It remains to take our word for it: in samadhi, the vital activity of the “gross body” stops completely, or the life processes slow down millions of times. This happens under the conscious control of the yogi - his “subtle body” continues to live. In other words, Itigelov slowed down, almost stopped time. The body only seems to be dead, the vital energy is left in it, and it must be protected from external influences. Therefore, before immersion in samadhi, the monks retired to caves inaccessible to others. Who has not heard the legends about the Tibetan caves, in which frozen yogis have been “sitting” for many centuries?

I heard a slightly different explanation (in general, as you understood, the hierarchs of Buddhism demonstrate an enviable pluralism of opinions regarding the state of Itigelov). His soul, which has attained enlightenment, is outside the body, but has a connection with it. And - can return.

Be that as it may, mankind has not previously been able to make sure of the success of preserving the body unchanged after death. There are no analogues of incorruptibility that would exist today or about them would be known from archival records. The only example mentioned by both Yanzhima and Ganzhur Lama is Bogdo Zonkhava. On the eighth day after leaving this world, his hair began to grow, and he was placed in a mortar. It was in Lhasa, in 1959 the Chinese military blew it up.

By the way, the lamas say that on the basis of Bogdo Zonkhava's "Praise to Interdependent Origins" (the root text on the emptiness of all phenomena) Itigelov made "a comprehensive and qualitative analysis of emptiness and achieved direct, practical comprehension of emptiness - the great reality of all phenomena." Well, it would be simpler ... Expert Elena Aleksandrovskaya said that in the samples of Itigelov's body tissues there are no iron, zinc, silver, iodine, or they are negligible. “It feels like there is emptiness inside! Where did it all go? " She suggests that this perfect void has suppressed all bacteria.

True, the Itigelov Institute forwarded her report to the RAS for evaluation, and from there they replied that this is a very rough analysis, the error is large. And since scientists began to violate the agreements - such a study was not planned, it was decided to return the tissue samples on January 3, 2005 to their homeland. This was accompanied by an ugly story: Professor Zvyagin was warned that the photo of the great lama without clothes (he was allowed to take it for anthropological research) should not be leaked to the tabloid press. But that's exactly what happened.

Leaving his will, Itigelov knew that decay would not touch his body. But the trick is that this emptiness is not only comprehended and meaningful, the Hambo Lama from it, which does not depend on our time and space, watches our world and talks to us. In January 2003, he suddenly began to lose weight, and behind the glass where he was, the humidity for some reason surged over 96%. This went on for three days, during which the people around wondered what to do. It was always believed that Itigelov in 1922 plunged four sacred vessels into the ground. Jewels, medicinal herbs, sacred things were kept there - in order to harmonize relations with the owner of that area (in Buryatia, the forces of nature are spiritualized: for example, no matter what mountain you go by, you will certainly be told who is its owner - a man or a woman, and why the owner of this mountain , to which during the war earthly women went to pray, allowed the townspeople to come to her dachas, and the owner of that mountain over there allowed only the military to place locators on the top).

So, in order to clarify the information about these "earth stabilizers", the lamas urgently went to the old people, and one 90-year-old grandmother suddenly said that there are actually five such vessels, not four. When he, the fifth, was found and performed ritual actions, Itigelov's weight immediately returned to the previous 41 kg, the humidity behind the glass returned to normal. In May 2003, the lamas lifted another vessel and a copy of it was loaded under the Itigelov palace under construction in the datsan. And the original, having been updated, was returned to its place.

Today it is believed that the great lama wrote over 50 philosophical books. Most are under sacred names, their authorship continues to be established even now, to translate (so far it turns out badly into Russian, the meaning is lost), to try to decipher and interpret. Not all manuscripts have been found yet. Ganzhur Lama believes that Itigelov himself decides when to give them to us. Looks when we ripen to them.

But the main book, say the lamas, is his body. A textbook that clearly tells about human capabilities.

Per recent times Itigelov opened his eyes twice. At his institute they say that it has not yet been clarified what this is connected with. On February 16, a few minutes before the meeting of the Hambo Lama with the people, it happened again. This is the testimony of Konstantin Zhalsaraev, he was there. From that day on, he decided to work at the Itigelov Institute as a volunteer.

And further. During my stay in the Ivolginsky Datsan, it became obvious to me: the huge amount of information lamas deliberately do not make public. They can be understood. They take care of both Itigelov and their lives from our "good" world.

They already know: people judge by themselves. It is important for them to prove to themselves that everyone is the same, that it is possible to live only the way they are. People would be pleased to hear that Pushkin shot himself in duels "for the sake of image." That the New Testament was writing advertising Jerusalem for tourists. That Buddha is just an effective PR project.

Few want to know the truth about Itigelov, which breaks the usual picture of the world. Well, in this world, unlike Itigelov, we live and die.

Hambo Lama rode on a horse along the lake, like on land

According to the surviving official police report, Itigelov once rode on a horse along the surface of White Lake (now called Sulfatnoye), as if along a paved road. He could instantly move: as soon as the door was closed behind him, he immediately found himself a kilometer away from it, turning into a point. No one, however, can repeat his method of comprehending emptiness. The current head of the Buddhists of Russia, Khambo Lama Ayusheev, on this score, they say, noted:

If I knew how to do this, I would have left this world of suffering long ago.

In July this year, an international conference "The Phenomenon of the XII Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov" was held in the Ivolginsky Datsan. According to the plan of the organizers, it should not have had either a pronounced scientific or religious character. As Khambo Lama Ayushev said:

The phenomenon is of interest to everyone. Let them come, let them say what they want, what they see, what they understand.

Although the abstracts of the conference have not yet been published, it is known that the opinions of the participants regarding the state of Itigelov were divided. Jampa Sandapa, a Buddhist scholar from India, is confident that Itigelov is still in a state of long meditation. In the history of Buddhism, yogis have attained the same state many times.

Indeed, hermits in Tibet, who decided to improve themselves by detachment from the world, retired in stone bags in complete darkness and emptiness. The first retreat lasted, as a rule, 3 years, 3 months and 3 days. Once a day, food was delivered to the hermits. After the expiration of the term, the hermit returned to the world, but not for long. Next time taking reclusiveness for the rest of his days.

For 75 years no one gave Itigelov any food, and he left on the eve of the persecution against the lambs, having previously said that they would not have time to take him. Thus, he managed to avoid reprisals and did not see the destruction of datsans and desecration of the faith.

The life of a yogi is by no means colorless and not useless, he can be useful indirectly, through his thoughts - waves of energy, which, when concentrated, become material. A directed and partially concentrated thought can move objects, turn into an instrument of telepathy, and force a person to perform certain actions at a distance. However, this technique is not the highest in Buddhism.

Help "AiF" about Dasha Dorzho Itigelov

The abbot of the Ivolginsky datsan, Lama Dagba Ochirov, on the contrary, expressed the opinion that Itigelov had reached the highest state in Buddhism - emptiness. According to the Keeper of the Precious Body, Gelong Lama Bimba Dorzhiev, no analogues of the Itigelov phenomenon have been found, despite the search.

According to other lamas, Khambo Itigelov kept his body, anticipating troubled times. He left himself the opportunity in the right time to return to the world to rid people of suffering. Lamas believe that Itigelov has already brought colossal benefits to all living things. Helping sentient beings get away from suffering and find a good birth, he thereby contributes to the purification of the common karma of the whole world.

"Arguments and Facts"

On September 11, 2002, an autopsy of the sarcophagus with the ashes of Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov took place in the Ivolginsky Datsan
(1852-1927).

Even among very advanced Buddhist practitioners, achieving an incorruptible body is the rarest case, according to representatives of the Buddhist traditional Sangha of Russia. Only great Teachers, leaving life, can enter the state of meditation-samadhi and purify their body so that after death it is preserved. This is because the process of death - the extinction of the vital functions of the body - is under conscious control. But not every body can remain incorrupt, says the oldest Buryat Gelek-Balbar Lama. One can only assume that Khambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov was a practitioner of the greatest level who reached direct comprehension of Emptiness - Great reality of all phenomena. "From early childhood, I heard from old people and relatives about Khambo Lama Itigelov," says Unzad Lama, the leader of prayer readings, Bimba Dorzhiev, who has been serving in the Ivolginsky Datsan since 1988 (he comes from Khuramsha, a village located near the former Yangazhinsky Datsan where Itigelov served - Auth.) - I remember the story of how the parishioners of the Tsongolsky Datsan turned to Khambo Lama Itigelov with a request to determine a new place for the construction of the datsan, since the former was flooded with water during floods.

Itigelov indicated the place, saying that the bell and the vajra of the first Khambo Lama Damba Dorzhi Zayayev were buried there. And there they really found these objects and subsequently built a new dugan of the Khilgantui (Tsongolsky) datsan. Believers mistook Itigelov for the reincarnated Khambo Lama Zayayev. "In fact, in 1955, a group of lamas led by Khambo Lama Lubsan-Nima Darmaev opened the sarcophagus with the body, put it in order and returned it to the boomkhan. Most likely, this was done in secret from the authorities, and, of course, in those years there could be no question of returning the body to the datsan. "All the time I kept in mind the thought that the current generation of Buddhist clerics need to find the sarcophagus of the Khambo Lama again and check the condition of his body, - continues Lama Bimba Dorzhiev. “Even in a dream, I saw how we open the sarcophagus, and I became even more firmly established in the belief that if we make the incorruptible body of Khambo Lama Itigelov an object of veneration for believers, it will become the greatest blessing.”

Dorzhiev found a person who knew about the place of the Teacher's burial - the grandfather of Amgalan Dabaev, born in 1914. He saw Itigelov during his lifetime, and his father-in-law participated in the opening of the sarcophagus in 1955. Bimba Lama and a group of believers turned to Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev with a request to organize excavations. And on September 10, with a group of lamas and relatives, Khambo Lama Ayusheev left for the burial site. With the help of Amgalan's grandfather, the exact burial site was determined. “Our rational mind says that it is impossible to preserve a deceased body in a more or less good condition. Still, 75 years have passed since the departure of the Khambo Lama,” says Damba Ayusheev. “I asked everyone to move away from the sarcophagus at the most crucial moment. expert E. Mandarkhanov, and when after a while he confirmed that the body was intact, I felt great relief and joy. But at the same time I felt the burden of responsibility for further destiny this precious body for us. "

On the evening of September 10, with a large crowd of believers, the sarcophagus was greeted in the datsan with honors of the highest Buddhist hierarch. Under the recitation of prayers and the sounds of ritual instruments, he was placed in the Divajin-dugan, where the model of paradise - the pure land of Buddha Amitabha, as well as the mandalas of the highest deities is located. Excitement, doubts, a feeling of involvement in a historical event - these emotions were experienced by each of those present at the opening of the sarcophagus. Experts I.A. Vologdin and D.A. Gorin compare the lifetime photograph of Hambo Lama D.-D. Itigelova with the exhumed body, dressed in a yellow tarlig, and say with confidence: "This is it."

From dawn to night in Divazhin-dugan, lamas and huvaraki daily recite a special prayer - "Dambrel dodbo" - "Praise to interdependent origin" - the root text on the emptiness of all phenomena. The Central Spiritual Directorate of the Sangha of Russia decided to build a special sarcophagus from a double-glazed window, create all conditions for the further preservation of the precious relic. One of the main initiators of the opening of the burial place of Hambo Lama D.-D. was appointed responsible for the "Collection of the Teacher's precious body". Itigelova unzad lama of the Ivolginsky datsan Bimba Dorzhiev. Worshiping the body of a yogi can bring great benefit to all believers, the respected Gelek-Balbar Lama believes. Since the time of the disciples of Tszonghava, the founder of the Gelukpa school (15th century), there have been attempts to preserve the body of the Teacher, but not all have been successful. But the Buddhists of Buryatia are incredibly lucky, they can witness a miracle with their own eyes. After 75 years, the Great Teacher was able to reveal his incorruptible body to the eyes of his followers in order to remind us of our frailty, impermanence and death, and the great power of the Buddha's Teachings.

"THEY WON'T HAPPEN TO TAKE ME"

Biography facts of the twelfth Pandito Khambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov Having become an orphan at an early age, Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov was brought up by the wealthy Nadmit Batuyev at that time in the Orongoi area - now the Ivolginsky district. Having reached the age of 16, he went to study at the Aninsky datsan of the Khorinsky steppe Duma. In those years, this datsan was one of the most famous for the level of education of its lamas-clergy. There he spent about 20 years studying Sanskrit, Tibetan language, logic, philosophy. Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov improved his knowledge of Buddhist sciences in the Tsugolsky and Aginsky datsans, and also served in the Tamchinsky datsan - the residence of the Khambo Lama. Most likely, in one of them he defended the title of gabji lama, which corresponds to the title of candidate of philosophical sciences. Returning to the Yangazhinsky datsan in the Orongoi area, he became a full-time Buddhist philosopher, it was very difficult and at the same time honorable to take this position, because the full-time lamas were actually supported by the state.

In 1904, Itigelov was appointed shirete-lama of the Yangazhinsky datsan. On March 24, 1911, he was nominated among ten candidates for the post of Pandito Khambo Lama - the head of the Buddhists of Eastern Siberia. By a diploma of April 11, 1911, the Irkutsk governor was approved as the Supreme Head of all Buddhist datsans. According to legend, at the time of his enthronement, Khambo Lama D.-D. Itigelov, before sitting on the Khamba throne, took out the seventh from the olbok pillows and, placing it on top of all the others, sat on the throne. It was the olbok of Pandito Khambo Lama Yeshizhamsuev Danzat-Gavan. Before his reign, among the Buddhists of Eastern Siberia, there was a long-standing dispute about the supremacy between the Khilgantuysky and Tamchinsky datsans. Itigelov's act was seen as a sign that he had come to put an end to long-standing strife.

Subsequently, Hambo Lama D.-D. Itigelov was looking for the burial place of the first Pandito Khambo Lama Damba-Dorzhi Zayayev and even, according to some sources, was recognized as his reincarnated by the believers of the Khilgantuy (Tsongolsky) datsan. While at the post of the Hambo Lama, D.-D. Itigelov made great efforts for educational activities, especially in the publication of religious and secular literature for the laity. For his work, he was repeatedly awarded medals from the Russian government and the governor of Eastern Siberia.

In 1913, Pandito Khambo Lama participated, by special invitation, in the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov and in the consecration of a Buddhist temple in the capital of the Russian Empire, St. Petersburg. The initiator of the construction of this temple - the famous Buddhist figure Aghvan Dorzhiev was the closest associate and ally of Khambo Lama D-D. Itigelova. A solemn prayer service for the health and well-being of the House of Romanov was performed at the St. Petersburg Datsan. After D.-D. Itigelov and A. Dorzhiev were photographed for memory. In the photo they are standing next to them, along with them are the famous orientalist P.K. Kozlov and his wife, the later famous Buryat scientists Ts.Zhamtsarano, E.-D. Rinchino, the Mongolian prince Khanda-Dorzhi, the Kalmyk prince Tundupov. It is also known that Khambo Lama Itigelov took part in the work of the II General Buryat Congress, which was held in the Gusinoozersky Datsan in July 1917. At the suggestion of Itigelov, the congress considered a new "Statute on the Lamaist clergy of Eastern Siberia."

After leaving the post of Hambo Lama in 1917 due to illness, D.-D. Itigelov made a lot of efforts to preserve and prevent the pogroms of datsans in the crucial years of the history of our country. Hambo Lama died in 1927. As a real Buddhist practitioner, before his death, he gave the last instructions to his disciples and asked them to start reciting "huga Namshi" for him, a special prayer - good wishes for the deceased. The disciples did not dare to pronounce it in the presence of the living Master. Then Khambo Lama began to recite this prayer himself, which his disciples gradually picked up. Reading goodwill and being in a state of meditation on the Clear Light of Mind, he passed away from this life. Before that, he bequeathed to his disciples: "You will visit and see my body in 30 years."

In the lotus position, in which the Khambo Lama was during meditation, the body was placed in a sarcophagus and buried in a bumkhan - a mausoleum in the Huhe-Zurkhen area, where famous lamas were buried. One of them, who was in the same cell with Agvan Dorzhiev during his arrest in 1938, recalled that back in 1921 Itigelov warned Dorzhiev, who at that moment returned from Mongolia: “You shouldn't have returned here. It would have been better if you stayed abroad. The arrests of the lamas will begin soon. If you fall into their hands, they will not leave you alive. " Aghvan Dorzhiev asked in response: "Why don't you go abroad?" To which Itigelov replied: "They will not have time to take me"

MOSCOW, December 01, 2003 - The sensational results of studies of the imperishable body of a Buddhist lama were published on Wednesday in Moscow. "Samples taken 75 years after the burial showed that the organic matter of the skin, hair and nails of this deceased person is no different from the organic matter of the living," said Galina Ershova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Russian State Humanitarian University.

This is the body of a famous religious figure named Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov, who was the head of Russian Buddhists from 1911 to 1927. Before his death, he bequeathed to get his body out of the ground after about 30 years. RETURNED AS I DID
("TVNZ")

For the first time his grandniece Yanzhima Vasilyeva tells about the miracles around the Buryat saint

This is how he died 78 years ago

Two and a half years have passed since the body of the former head of the Buddhists of Russia Khambo Lama Itigelov, who died 78 years ago, was unearthed at the cemetery near Ulan-Ude (KP wrote about this on October 19, 2002, December 2 and 4, 2004) ... Then, in September 2002, the medical examiners present at the exhumation were shocked. Itigelov had all the signs of a living body: soft skin without any signs of decay, the nose, ears, closed eyes were preserved in place (the eyeballs were in place, did not leak out), fingers and elbow joints were mobile. The body was fragrant. There is no unpleasant smell to this day. The lama did not lie like a mummy, but sat in a cedar box in the lotus position.

Itigelov died unusually, - tells about his unique ancestor Yanzhima Dabaevna. - After in 1917 he resigned as the head of the Buddhists of Russia, he perfected his spirit for ten years. And on June 15, 1927, he gathered his disciples, sat in the lotus position and asked them to read the Buddhist prayer "Goodwill to the Deceased", which is usually addressed to the deceased. The disciples were surprised: "Why should we read this prayer to you alive?" Then he read it himself and stopped breathing. This amazed even the monks who were initiated into the secrets of meditation. “Before leaving, Itigelov said: Come to me in 30 years. Look at my body. And in 75 years I will return to you. ”The monks dug up the llama in 1957. And, seeing that the body had not decomposed, they buried again. If it decomposed, then according to Buddhist laws, the body would certainly be burned.

In September 2002, the lama did return. Now he is sitting under a glass bell in the Ivolginsky datsan (monastery). And it still hasn't rotted - at normal room temperature.

All Buddhists believe that God has returned, - says Yanzhima Dabaevna. - For us it is a shrine. You cannot behave with him as with an ordinary person. And they still tell me: what right did you have to admit scientists to the body ?!

HIS BRAIN PULSES

Yanzhima Dabaevna is not only a relative of the great saint, but also the director of the Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov Institute, created in 2002, whose goal is to preserve the legacy of the "resurrected god". And as a leader, she considered it correct to scientifically record the phenomenon, but without opening the body. They collected the hair that had fallen from the llama's head, peeled skin and cut four milligrams of a toenail. These samples allowed Viktor Zvyagin, Head of the Personality Identification Department of the Russian Center for Forensic Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and Galina Ershova, Professor of the Russian Humanitarian State University, to examine them. The results obtained stunned the experts themselves: spectral analysis did not reveal anything in the organic tissues of the body that would distinguish them from the tissues of a living person!

He is the same as you and me, only his eyes are closed, - Itigelov's grandniece convinces me.

Professor Ershova, for example, having touched his hands, felt their warmth. And the monk accompanying Ershova took off the cap from Itigelov's head in front of her, wiped the sweat from his forehead (!) And wiped it on Ershova's hand with the words: "The Teacher was sweating ..." The woman was shocked. There are even witnesses who claim that the lama opened his eyes.

The internal organs seem to be intact, experts say. But the blood from liquid became jelly-like. But it is, which should not be in a person who died 78 years ago. And the very famous chiropractor Alexei Azheev, who has been observing the body since 2002, even felt the pulsation of the brain in his own special way. In his opinion, the living cerebral hemispheres give out 3 - 4 "bursts" per minute, while the motionless Itigelov - 1 per minute.

A unique phenomenon that has no analogues in the world, of course, haunts scientists, - Yanzhima Dabaevna laments. - And after they had already established that his cells were alive, they decided to investigate the body even deeper: to illuminate with an X-ray and do a tomography. Itigelov, on the other hand, did not give orders to examine his body in his will. And we Buddhists obey the Master's word. Therefore, on January 3, 2005, all experiments in the “Itigelov case” were officially closed.

- But why don't you allow research to be carried out that might just confirm a miracle?

Itigelov is not an exhibit for experiments. And we don't need to prove anything: we know that he is alive.

STETHOSCOPE NOT APPLIED TO BREAST

- Does the llama's skin turn black over time?

No. Sometimes it just gets hard. On November 4 last year, Professor Ershova and I touched his face - it was very soft and smooth. And after a while it hardened. Doctor Aleksey Azheev explains this by the processes taking place inside any living organism. There is such a term “hands of a washerwoman”. When hands are constantly in the water, they should swell, and they shrink. This body balances so as not to release moisture from itself. Itigelov has the same effect: his weight either increases or decreases.

- Are you weighing it yet?

Yes. He weighs an average of 41 kg, but occasionally loses or gains one kilogram in weight.

- Does your heart work?

I will not say. The stethoscope was not applied to the chest.

We still do not know who and when poured salt into the cedar box with the lama. Not the fact - that this was done from the day of burial. In addition, the salt damaged his skin in places - it dried it out.

THE PERSON WHO REACHED ENLIGHTENMENT

- Yanzhima Dabaevna, how do you yourself explain the incorruptibility of your relative's body?

He was able to reach the state that the famous Buddhist monk Bogdo Zonhava wrote about in his essay "Praise of Interdependent Origins" in the 15th century. And Itigelov wrote a commentary on this book - about how to practically achieve this extraordinary state, which in our terminology is called "emptiness." And acquire supernatural powers.

- What kind of paranormal abilities did the lama have?

For example, according to the surviving official police report, Itigelov once rode on a horse along the surface of White Lake (now called Sulfatnoye), as if along a paved road. He could instantly move: as soon as the door was closed behind him, he immediately found himself a kilometer away from it, turning into a point.

- And how did he achieve this very “emptiness”?

I asked this question to the current head of Buddhists, Khambo Lama Ayusheev. He replied: "If I knew how to do this, then I would not be in this world of suffering."

REINCARNATION?

Famous actor Richard Gere (center) with Lama Itigelov's grand-niece Yanzhima Vasilyeva and Lama Buda, who was present at the exhumation of the incorruptible body.

But there is another mystery. Buddhists believe that the second coming of Itigelov is due to the fact that he underwent reincarnation - the transmigration of souls. They say that the soul of the first head of the Buddhist Church, Pandito Khambo Lama Zayayev, the founder of Buddhism in Russia, entered Itigelov.

Interesting figures convince us of this, - continues Yanzhima's story. - Zayayev was born in 1702. He lived exactly 75 years and died in 1777. But, leaving this life, he told his disciples: I will return to you. And in 1852, exactly (!) 75 years later, Khambo Lama Itigelov was born. He also lives for 75 years and leaves us with the words "I will return to you in 75 years." As a result, this mystical number is repeated four times - 75 years.

- Your ancestor studied pharmacology and Tibetan medicine for more than twenty years. Maybe he invented the elixir of immortality?

If it were that simple, then many lamas could use this recipe.

- How do you feel when you walk past your ancestor?

As if you are entering a dark room and suddenly feel that there is someone there - warm, lively, feeling.

Seven times a year, on major Buddhist holidays, huge queues line up to Itigelov. These are the days for 2005: April 24, May 23, July 10, September 27, October 24, November 26 and January 29, 2006. The imperishable body has already been visited by over 70 thousand believers. Some even feel his touch during worship.

We are amazed by the fact, - explains Vasilyeva, - that, leaving his will, Itigelov knew that in tens of years his body would remain incorrupt.

WORSHIP THE "IMMEDIATE BODY"
("Vesti-Buryatiya")

In 2005 there will be only 7 days when believers can bow to the "incorruptible body" of Khambo Lama Itigelov. The nearest date is February 8, lunar new year's eve.

Meanwhile, the Hambo Lama Institute continues to study the heritage of the most prominent hierarch of the Buddhist Church. The phenomenon of Itigelov is investigated not only in religious terms, but also in natural sciences. And here there are more questions than answers, after long research, scientists admitted that they were not able to explain the phenomenon of "imperishable body" Numerous analyzes only complicated the situation. Representatives of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha and the Institute of Khambo Lama Itigelov told about the conclusions reached by eminent Moscow scientists at a meeting with journalists.

Yanzhima Vasilyeva, director of the Khambo Lama Itigelov Institute, explained that the tissue samples of the "incorruptible body" are now being examined by the nuclear resonance method, and this is where the scientific study of the Itigelov phenomenon ends. Scientists have never been able to explain the mystery of a Buddhist priest whose body was removed from the ground 75 years after burial. They are unanimous in only one thing: the Itigelov phenomenon is a sensation not only in the history of Buddhism, but also in humanity in general. The research was supervised by Professor Viktor Zvyagin, Head of the Personality Identification Department of the Forensic Medicine Center of the Russian Ministry of Health. He stated that studies show that the body of Hambo Lama corresponds to the body of a person who died 12 hours ago, at the same time when one of the scientists approached him, she clearly felt hot hands.

Zvyagin and his colleagues, with the permission of the Buddhist clergy, studied tissue samples of the "incorruptible body": hair that fell from the Lama's head, skin scales and a cut of a nail. They were compared with samples of living people, including Professor Zvyagin himself. Based on the results, it was concluded that protein structure not broken, corresponds to a living person. Stunned by the results of the study chemical composition body. Scientists could not explain the fact that Itigelov has no or negligible amount of chemical elements.

The body of Khambo Lama Itigelov has been an object of worship for Buddhists in Buryatia, Russia and the world for two years. It is located in the Ivolginsky Datsan, in a room without special equipment, in a glass sarcophagus, which protects from dust rather than from time. The body of the Lama is not subject to him - no changes in 2 years. His chief supervisor, Bimbo Lama, is almost constantly near the teacher. After a certain time, according to the season, he changes his clothes, and by this period the joints become more mobile. Bimbo Lama noted that when changing clothes, a fragrance emanates from the teacher's body.

Lamas talk about many miracles taking place around the Body of Precious. Including about the magical healings of people who managed to see Khambo Lama Itigelov.

This year, the sangha named only 7 days when it will be possible to bow to his body, the nearest one is New Year's Eve according to the lunar calendar.

PRESS CONFERENCE
ON THE PHENOMENON OF LAMA ITIGELOV AND THE PROBLEM OF IMMORTALITY

On November 29, 2006 at 15.00 in Moscow at the Russian State Humanitarian University a press conference "The world phenomenon of the XII Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov and the problem of immortality" was held, years after his burial.

The unique story of "life after death" of Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov was told in detail by the head of the Department of Sustainable Innovative Development of Dubna University, Professor Boris Bolshakov this summer at the UNESCO Baikal Conference: “Itigelov is a native of Buryatia, a famous religious figure named Khambo Lama Dashi Dorzho Itigelov (1852-1927), who was the head of Russian Buddhists from 1911 to 1917. For understanding and assessing the current state of Itigelov, it is extremely important that he passed away while performing certain ritual actions: having gathered his close students, he sat in the lotus position and asked them to perform the Buddhist prayer “Good wishes to the departing.” The students were surprised that they should read this prayer to a living person. Then Itigelov read the prayer himself. And before that he left his disciples a will: saying that it takes a thousand years, he asked to raise it after 75 years to make sure he’s alive. In secular terms, it’s quite possible that he wants l to demonstrate on yourself a model, some example of how you can live after death. And, apparently, he believed that a thousand years is a sufficient period for people to figure it out, to be able to understand the mechanisms, ways to achieve this goal.

In September 2002, the sarcophagus in which Itigelov was located was opened in the presence of the leadership of the Buddhist traditional sangha of Russia and medical experts. The general surprise was caused by the excellent safety of the body in spite of time and the irreversibility of physical decay. Itigelov was still sitting in the same lotus position that he took when he was meditating when he passed away. He was not only outwardly recognizable, but all the signs of a living body were found in him: soft skin without any shades of decay, his nose, ears, closed eyes, fingers, and so on were preserved in place. I do not know of any such fact officially registered by the modern state, not only in the history of Buddhism, but also in the history of mankind in general.

It is also interesting that Itigelov was born exactly 75 years after the death of his teacher. The first head of the Buddhist church Pandito Khambo Lama Zayayev, the founder of Buddhism in Russia, leaving this life, told his disciples: I will return to you. And in 1852, exactly 75 years later, Khambo Lama Itigelov was born. He also lives for 75 years and leaves with the words: "I will return to you in 75 years."

After the opening of the sarcophagus, the Khambo Lama was transported to the Ivolginsky datsan (a datsan is a complex of Buddhist buildings that unites separate dagans - temples), changed and placed on the second floor in the same lotus position. Days, months and years passed, and his body remained incorrupt. The pathologists who came to the datsan were amazed - the safety of the body contradicted all the official laws of nature. After much deliberation, the current head of the Buddhists of Russia decided to give scientists the opportunity to examine the body of Itigelov. The examination was carried out by Professor Viktor Zvyagin, Head of the Personality Identification Department of the Russian Bureau of Forensic Medicine. He collected for analysis the hair that had fallen from the llama's head, peeled skin and clipped a few milligrams of a toenail. The obtained results stunned the expert: spectral analysis did not reveal anything in the organic tissues of the body that would distinguish them from the tissues of a living person. In addition to the official forensic medical examination headed by Professor Zvyagin, many other experts from different countries came to the datsan, each time various analyzes were carried out, but everyone came to the conclusion that Itigelov's body corresponded to all parameters of the body of a living person, including eyes. But scientists have not yet been able to make sure that his brain is working. Different points of view are expressed on this matter. "

ITIGELS AND VOID
("Novaya Gazeta" dated April 6, 2007)

Few want to know the truth about Itigelov, which breaks the usual picture of the world. People judge by themselves. It is important for them to prove to themselves that everyone is the same, that it is possible to live only the way they are. People would be pleased to hear that Pushkin shot himself in duels "for the sake of image." That the New Testament was writing advertising Jerusalem for tourists. That Buddha is just an effective PR project ...

Russia is not alive because of oil prices. And Gazprom has nothing to do with it, and even Vladimir Putin.

First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov, who came to the Ivolginsky Datsan, said that Itigelov "continues to serve Russia," and Vice Admiral Valery Dorogin, a Duma deputy, called him "a component of national security." For a long time, the scientists of the Dubna University, who have been studying the Itigelov phenomenon for a long time, have stated that the mental body of the Khambo Lama extends over 18-20 thousand kilometers. And they connected with this power sacred phenomena that are increasingly manifested in the territory of ethnic Buryatia.

It is useless to refute or argue the validity of such statements, people have always looked for a certain "fifth element", a magical link in the chain of things and events that can save and preserve here in this world. As for the persecution of oligarchs, Itigelov, in his message to his descendants, warned: "Wealth, madly collected and accumulated, will turn into a special poison."

EARTH LIFE OF ITIGELOV

The monks of the Aninsky datsan responded with a polite refusal: "The gods themselves know where they should be born." His teacher was also the shirete (abbot) of the Aninsky datsan, the earthly embodiment of the Buddha of compassion.

Pandito Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev: "If there were even one inaccuracy in this book, he would never have been able to achieve an eternal body."

Nicholas II and the royal family revered Itigelov (Buryat lamas, let me remind you, healed the crowned persons), he had many Russian awards. The native people, the Buryats, began to worship him during their lifetime. In 1903, when he was appointed shiretete of the Yangazhinsky datsan, he donated all his fortune for the construction of new dugans in honor of the soldiers who died in the Russo-Japanese War.

From the "act of external examination of the exhumed corpse", signed on September 11 by three leading specialists of the republican center of forensic medical examination: "Any extraneous aromatic, resinous or putrid odors from the contents of the box and from the corpse were not determined ... The soft tissues of the corpse of a tight elastic consistency, mobility in the joints is preserved ... Hair on the head, nail plates are preserved. The posture of the corpse when removing the latter from the box is maintained without the use of any supporting and fixing devices. No traces of previously performed opening of body cavities for the purpose of possible embalming or preservation, as well as any injuries, traces of previous injuries, surgical interventions, diseases on the body of the corpse were not found.

First, a sarcophagus was built for the lama from a double-glazed window, then it was decided to order two refrigerators from the Krasnoyarsk plant "Biryusa".

There are no traces of autopsy, removal of the brain and internal organs, we did not find any injections, cuts or similar influences. " Military doctors have studied the nucleus of the cell by the nuclear resonance method. Their conclusion: the cell is alive and the nucleus is intact.

ADVENTURE OF THE SOUL

All that remains is to take our word for it: in samadhi, the vital activity of the "gross body" stops completely, or life processes slow down millions of times. This happens under the conscious control of the yogi - his "subtle body" continues to live. In other words, Itigelov slowed down, almost stopped time. The body only seems to be dead, the vital energy is left in it, and it must be protected from external influences. Therefore, before immersion in samadhi, the monks retired to caves inaccessible to others. Who has not heard the legends about the Tibetan caves, in which the frozen yogis have been "sitting" for many centuries?

By the way, the lamas say that on the basis of Bogdo Zonhava's "Praise to Interdependent Origins" (the root text on the emptiness of all phenomena) Itigelov made "a comprehensive and qualitative analysis of emptiness and achieved direct, practical comprehension of emptiness - the great reality of all phenomena." Well, it would be simpler ...

So, in order to clarify the information about these "stabilizers of the earth", the lamas urgently went to the old people, and one 90-year-old grandmother suddenly said that there are actually five such vessels, not four.

Lately, Itigelov has opened his eyes twice.

BUDDHA PREDICTED ITIGELOV?

Scientists and theologians try to reveal the secret of the imperishable body of the Hambo Lama

The international conference "The Pandito Hambo Lama Itigelov Phenomenon" opened on Monday and will be held from July 2 to 3 at the Ivolginsky Datsan in Buryatia. It is dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the acquisition of the body of the pandito hambo lama Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov. But on the whole, the conference is viewed by the scientists gathered at it as an "attempt to understand the phenomenon of erdene munhe bee" (the sacred incorruptible body) of the lama.

According to Yanzhima Vasilyeva, director of the Itigelov Institute, the conference will consider about 20 reports in five sections: in addition to the phenomenon of the incorruptible body of a lama, scientists will solve "questions on decoding Itigelov's message, his influence on others, as well as philosophical aspects of Buddhism in Russia."

In addition, the line of succession from the pandito khambo lama will be revealed: we recall that in 2003, in the library of the Ivolginsky datsan, Itigelov's manuscript was found, in which he described 12 of his existence on earth. "The book reliably describes five sojourns of Itigelov in India, five in Tibet and two on the territory of Buryatia," Yanzhima Vasilyeva believes.

Representatives of the Dubna University are expected to take part in the conference. They are the ones who own the version that the phenomenon of the pandito hambo lama is associated with the unique junction point of the Amur, Lena and Yenisei river basins, which was established in 1977 by the geography teacher Kusochinskaya high school Mogoytuy district of Zhalsarain.

There is no other point in the world watershed where the three largest rivers in the world meet. In 1983, by the decision of the Russian Geographical Society, this point was assigned the status of a state natural monument and was given a name in honor of the outstanding explorer of Transbaikalia P.S. Pallas.

In addition, this conclusion intersects with the statements of Buddha Shakyamuni that "Buddhism will receive a new impetus for development in the northernmost point of its distribution, which is Buryatia." Also of great importance is the fact that on the territory of the republic in the Egituysky datsan there is a lifetime statue of Buddha - "Zandan Zhuu", which is two and a half millennia old.

Time will show what conclusion scientists and clergy will come to after today's conference. However, more than 150 representatives of Buddhist and secular science came to Buryatia to talk about the phenomenon of an imperishable body, as well as to discuss the problems of modern Buddhism. Traditionally, the event opens with the erection of the mandala of the pandito hambo lama Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov.

Dashi Dorzho Itigelov was born in 1852. In 1911, Dashi was elected the XII Pandito Hambo Lama, after which he was the head of Russian Buddhists until 1917. In the summer of 1927, Itigelov, in a state of meditation, plunged into nirvana. In the lotus position, in which he stopped breathing, the body in a cedar box was immersed in the ground, to a depth of one and a half meters.

On September 11, 2002, an autopsy of the sarcophagus with the body of Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov (1852-1927) took place in the Ivolginsky Datsan. The body was removed from the "bumkhan" - the burial place of a lama in the area of Huhe-Zurkhen ("Blue Heart" - Bur.) In the presence of the leadership and priests of the Buddhist traditional Sangha of Russia. After 75 years from the moment of placing the body of the Great Lama, it was preserved in excellent condition - in the same lotus position that Itigelov took when he performed a miracle while meditating. Physiological processes take place in it. Scientists testify: there is no explanation for this. Pilgrims come to him thousands of miles away. Some call him Buddha.

The Central Spiritual Directorate of the Sangha of Russia decided to create all conditions for the further preservation of the precious relic, since according to the Gelek-Balbar Lama, "worshiping the body of a yogi can bring great benefit to all believers." Since the time of the disciples of Tszonghava, the founder of the Gelukpa school (15th century), there have been attempts to preserve the bodies of teachers, but not all have been successful. We can say that the Buddhists of Buryatia are lucky.

By the decision of the Central Spiritual Directorate of the Sangha of Russia in 2003, in the Ivolginsky Datsan (Republic of Buryatia), the construction of the temple-palace of the Hambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov "Etigel Khambyn Ordon" began. According to the project, in this temple-palace, the main shrine will be the incorruptible body of a hambo lama and Buddha statues made by Buryat masters of past centuries. Today, the imperishable body of Dasha Itigelov is on the upper floors of the main dugan of the Ivolginsky datsan.

SCIENTISTS STUDY THE "ETERNAL LIVE" LAMU

About 150 scientists and theologians from Europe, Mongolia, regions of Russia are taking part in the first international conference "Pandito Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov", which takes place in the official residence in the Ivolginsky datsan - the Buddhist traditional Sangha of Russia.

The phenomenon of the "eternally living" lama was spoken about in September 2002, when the mummy of the head of Russian Buddhist clerics, Pandit Khambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov XII, was dug up in one of the cemeteries in Buryatia. The sensation was that the lama's body, buried in 1927, not only did not decompose, but in general Itigelov looked like a living one. Republican forensic experts who examined the body could not believe that three-quarters of a century had passed since death. According to legend, in 1927, 75-year-old Pandita Khambo-Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov XII sat in the lotus position, meditated and stopped showing signs of life. In the same lotus position, the monks placed him in a cedar box, covered him with salt and buried him in the cemetery. Before his death, the lama gave orders to remove his body from the grave twice: 30 and 75 years later.

The first time the llama was dug up two years ahead of schedule, they made sure that nothing had happened with the body, and they buried it again. In 1973, Itigelov's grave was opened again. For the third time (now finally) the llama was removed from the ground in 2002. The body was transported to the Ivolginsky Datsan and placed in a glass sarcophagus. After some time, forensic experts were allowed to the incorruptible body, who drew up an act of external examination of the corpse. The protocol drawn up by the experts, in particular, reads: “... the skin is light gray in color, dry, pliable when pressed with fingers. The soft tissues of the corpse are of tight elastic consistency, the mobility in the joints is preserved. Hair on the head, nail plates are preserved. The posture of the corpse when removing the latter from the box is maintained without the use of any supporting and fixing devices. No traces of the previously performed opening of the body cavities for the purpose of possible embalming or preservation, as well as injuries, traces of previous injuries, surgical interventions, diseases on the body of the corpse were not found. Later, scientists began to study the body of the lama more thoroughly. The head of the personality identification department of the Russian Center for Forensic Medicine of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation V. Zvyagin and Doctor of Historical Sciences Professor of the Russian State Humanitarian University G. Ershova managed to examine the body of Itigelov in the most detailed way, who stated that they had never encountered such a phenomenon. “Samples taken 75 years after the burial showed that the organic matter of the skin, hair and nails of this deceased person is no different from the organic matter of the living,” says Galina Ershova. One of the experts, I. Vologdin, said: “This has never happened in my practice ... The soft tissues are perfectly preserved. The mobility of the joints also remained. And most importantly, the pose has been preserved. It is not a mummy, it is not a relic. This is an extraordinary event that we cannot yet explain. "

Also, experts found that no preservatives were used to preserve Itigelov's body. The study of the cell by the nuclear resonance method showed that the nucleus is intact, and the state of the cytoplasm is rather characteristic of living tissue. However, V. Zvyagin, answering the question of journalists whether it is still possible to consider the Hambo Lama a living person, answered negatively: “No. If the body temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius, the person is dead ... "

Despite the fact that the case with the body of Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov is unique, the lama is not the only "imperishable" Buddhist. In the courtyard of the Thien Dau Temple, 23 km from Hanoi, the mummy of the abbot of the Wu Khak Min monastery has been sitting in the lotus position for 300 years. According to legend, by the end of his days, abbot Ming immersed himself in fasting and prayer. A hundred days later, Min turned to the monks gathered in front of him: "The time has come for me to leave this world. When my spirit flies from my body, wait a month. If you smell decay, bury me, as it should be according to the rite. If there is no decay, leave me. here for me to offer prayers to the Buddha forever! " After the death of Wu Khak Min, no rotting was observed on the body. The monks covered the abbot's body with silver paint to protect him from insects, and left him to sit on a small dais in the niche of the chapel. After Vietnam gained independence, Abbot Min's mummy was X-rayed. The doctors saw on the screen the contours of the skeleton and made sure that in front of them was really not a statue, but a human body. Research has shown that Min's body was not embalmed, and his internal organs and brain remained intact. The body was preserved in tropical Vietnam, where the humidity reaches one hundred percent. At the same time, Min's remains were not moistened, but dried out. During the study at the hospital, the mummy weighed only 7 kilograms.

In addition, in one of the Buddhist schools in Japan, there is a method of "lifetime mummification." In the 9th century, the monk Kukai founded the Shingon esoteric school. One of the ideas of the founder of the school was the idea of "Shoshin Jёbutsu" - "to become a buddha in your own body." The ascetic who embarked on this path, after prayers and meditations, proceeded to the final stage of his life, which lasted at least a thousand days. The conditions for this stage were immobility, detachment, contemplation, and a special breathing pattern. The diet consisted of decreasing portions of food, excluding all nutrients such as starchy substances. The body switched to consuming its own tissues, and by the end of the phase only skin and bones remained of the person. The corpse was placed in dry conditions to speed up the drying of the remaining soft tissue. The practice of in vivo mummification became widespread among adherents of the teachings of "shugendo" - "mountain recluse". Mummies were exhibited in temples, they were worshiped as incarnations of Buddhas.

However, unlike Wu Khak Min and the Japanese Buddhists practicing lifetime mummification, the body of Lama Itigelov did not shrink and generally did not undergo any changes. Moreover, when the lama's skin was accidentally injured, a red jelly-like mass appeared from the wound, into which blood turned. Scientists note that not a single such fact has so far been found, not only in the history of Buddhism, but in the history of mankind in general. Experts are going to continue to study this phenomenon, but for now the relics of the lama are in a special temple and are the object of worship of believers. Buddhists believe that the Hambo Lama attained the comprehension of Emptiness - the Great Reality of all phenomena. Therefore, leaving life, I entered a state of meditation and purified my body so that after death it is preserved. By the way, everyone can see the imperishable lama on the set days, for this, even some travel agencies organize special tours.

ACHIEVED THE FIRST RESULTS OF DECODING THE MESSAGE OF ITIGELOV

The first results have been achieved in deciphering the message of Pandito Khambo Lama Dashi Dorzho Itigelov. Shireete (abbot) Baldan Lama Bazarov announced this at the international conference "Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov Phenomenon".

According to him, decryption began immediately after the book was found. “The work is hampered by the fact that the text is written allegorically in the old Mongolian language interspersed with Tibetan and Sanskrit,” Baldan Lama noted.

Nevertheless, in two years it was possible to decipher a small part of the message - in it Pandito Khambo Lama Itigelov predicts the events of the 20-30s. But at the same time, as Buddhist philosophers working on the manuscript note, the code of the message is not completely clear. The message itself is multi-layered - “one word in it can be interpreted in different ways,” Lama Bazarov said.

The message of the shirete of the Kyakhtinsky datsan raised many questions from the secular scientists gathered at the conference. “Now it is difficult to say something about the meaning of the message, as much as it is interesting, just as incomprehensible. Nevertheless, it exists and work on deciphering it must be continued, ”noted Alexander Zavyalov, professor at the Novosibirsk Institute of Psychotherapy.

“It's just some Buryat Nostradamus. And if we manage to decipher the message in its entirety, I think it will be the greatest knowledge for all of us, ”stressed Tatyana Strizhova, senior researcher at the Russian State Humanitarian Institute.

THE SECRET OF THE IMMERSE LAMA IS DISCOVERED
("Arguments and Facts" dated July 4, 2007)

On September 10, 2002, the body of the 12th Pandito Hambo Lama was lifted out of the ground, and it was discovered that the Hambo Lama literally lives after death: he has warm hands, he sweats and even opens his eyes. For the first time, leading scientists and religious leaders tried to explain this phenomenon.

SCIENCE IS NOT ABLE TO EXPLAIN AN OBVIOUS BUDDHIST PHENOMENON

The phenomenon of Khambo Lama Itigelov, with all its obviousness and openness to scientists, is not subject to modern biological science in principle.

In Buryatia, the conference "Phenomenon of the XII Pandito Khambo Lama Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov" was held, dedicated to the phenomenon of the incorruptibility of the body of Lama Itigelov. 130 theologians, journalists and secular scientists from all over the world, gathered in the Ivolginsky datsan, tried to understand the reasons why for 80 years since the death of Khambo Lama, his body has not been touched by decay.

The “Itigelov Phenomenon” is not only badly consistent with current scientific doctrines, but contradicts them in principle. But at the same time, on the one hand, it is open to scientists, and on the other, it finds an explanation in the fact of faith and is fully consistent with the doctrine of Buddhism, which is based on the doctrine of the Four Noble Truths.

XII Pandito Khambo Lama (in the world of Dasha-Dorzho Itigelov) was born in 1852. In 1911 he was elected XII Pandito Khambo Lama, the head of all Russian Buddhists. In 1917, he resigned from the post of Hambo Lama, and in 1927 he passed away, bequeathed to get his body out of the ground. The body of Khambo Lama Itigelov in the lotus position was placed in a sarcophagus and buried.

In September 2002, the sarcophagus was raised, and upon opening it, it turned out that the Lama's body had not undergone decay. According to the forensic expert, Doctor of Medical Sciences Viktor Zvyagin, the body of the lama has no pronounced posthumous changes. The joints are flexible, the skin is elastic. Using infrared spectrophotometry, it was shown that the protein fractions of Hambo Lama have in vivo characteristics.

According to Vostok-Teleinform, at a conference held in Buryatia, an expert from India Jampa Sandapa expressed the opinion that Itigelov is still in long-term meditation, and cited examples from the history of Buddhism, when yogis reached the same state. The abbot of the Ivolginsky datsan Dagba Lama Ochirov noted in his report that Itigelov had reached the highest state in Buddhism associated with the awareness of emptiness.

Perhaps Khambo Lama Itigelov reached a state of samadhi, in which a person's breathing and heart rate sharply decreases, and the metabolism slows down. According to the teachings of yogis, during samadhi, a person's consciousness functions, but does not manifest itself in the form of feelings and logical thinking, from which a person, on the contrary, is freed. One who has attained samadhi can arbitrarily regulate his life processes.

In addition to the phenomenon of the incorruptibility of the body Khambo Lama Itigelov, the conference discussed his spiritual heritage, prophecies, as well as some philosophical aspects of Buddhism.

HUMBO LAMA RIDING A HORSE ON THE LAKE AS ON THE EARTH
("Arguments and Facts" dated July 24, 2007)

He left himself the opportunity to return to the world at the right time to save people from suffering. Lamas believe that Itigelov has already brought colossal benefits to all living things. Helping sentient beings get away from suffering and find a good birth, he thereby contributes to the purification of the common karma of the whole world.

HUMBO-LAMA ETIGELOV SURPRISED AGAIN

Khambo Lama Etigelov, photo memorial.krsk.ru

The Buddhist traditional sangha of Russia presented new materials dedicated to the phenomenon of the imperishable body of the Buddhist saint, the XII Pandito Hambo Lama Etigelov. The teachings of the saint and his answers to questions that the lamas of the Ivolginsky datsan receive every morning directly from the Hambo Lama Etigelov, are today classified by topic and collected in a separate collection.

This unique source was first presented by the current XXIVth Pandito Hambo Lama Damba Ayusheev at the International Conference "The Phenomenon of the XII Pandito Hambo Lama Etigelov", which began today in the Ivolginsky Datsan. It was attended by scientists, religious and public figures from different cities of Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Kyzyl, Ulan-Ude), Mongolia, China, USA, Uzbekistan.

This is the fifth scientific conference dedicated to the Etigelov phenomenon, which is held under the auspices of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia (BTSD). The conference is traditionally organized by the Dashi Choynhorlin Buddhist University (BTSD), the Pandito Institute of the Hambo Lama Itigelov and the Ivolginsky Datsan Khambyn Khuree.

This is the fifth conference. I believe that the time when we discussed the biography of Hambo Lama Etigelov, the history of his life and related legends and traditions is over, '' the current Pandito Hambo Lama of the BTSD Damba Ayusheev told the Asia Russia Daily (ARD) Internet portal. - We, as real Buddhists, do not live in the past and will not look far into the future. Today we are trying to live according to the instructions that the Hambo Lama Etigelov gives us every day.

He talks about the teaching and the teacher, about Buddha Shakyamuni and Buddhism, about bodhisattvas and buddhas-dhyanis, about idams and dakinis, about sahyusans and celestials, "masters of the area" and nagas. That is, about the pantheon of Buddhism. At the same time, he tells us about moral concepts, about compassion, pacification, bodhichitta, as well as about various aspects of life, about the native language, homeland, climate, human health and much more. Very interesting things the Hambo Lama says about the bosses! (laughs). Therefore, our task is to ensure that everything that the Etigelov Hambo Lama gives us in his messages is collected and not lost for people. I hope that after this conference some of his words will enter the lives of people!

"NOTES" FROM HUMBO-LAMA ETIHELOV

Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev told ARD about how the technical exchange of information between the incorruptible body of Etigelov and the lamas of the Ivolginsky datsan takes place. It turns out that every morning for the past several years, the chief keeper of the "erdeni munkhe bee" ("precious incorruptible body"), the lama of the Ivolginsky datsan, Bimba Dorzhiev, after the morning service (khural) in the Pandito palace of the Hambo Lama Etigelov, receives a kind of audience with "forever living "saint.

Khambo Lama Damba Ayusheev told ARD about how the technical exchange of information between the incorruptible body of Etigelov and the lamas of the Ivolginsky datsan takes place.

This is how the servants of the datsan describe this process. Having entered a special state similar to an insight, the Bimba Lama receives information "on a subtle plane" from the Hambo Lama Etigelov and writes it down on a piece of paper. Moreover, the message is transmitted almost every day (if Bimba Lama is not sick) in two languages, Buryat and Tibetan. Allegedly, at first, Khambo Lama Etigelov himself in the Buryat language describes a situation that needs to be resolved or commented on. And then the sentence itself, a kind of conclusion or conclusion from this situation, is recited in Tibetan!

Acting Hambo Lama Damba Ayusheev said that every morning (until 11:00) he receives a sheet of information from the chief keeper of Lama Bimba Dorzhiev. For example, today, June 27, 2015, on the opening day of the International Conference, he received the following information: “Two students hold their teacher's hands on both sides. For 15 years he sat in meditation and today left it (in Buryat language - C The answer of the Hambo Lama Etigelov: In his body, speech and consciousness he received siddhi, supernatural abilities (in Tibetan - SB). "

Every day I receive such a gift from the Bimba Lama (note - S. B.) and all day I go and think. By evening, I go to my native Twitter (laughs) and post it all in Russian! - Hambo Lama Damba Ayusheev described his day to ARD.

Materials from the personal page of the Hambo Lama Damba Ayusheev on the Twitter social network with daily messages from the "eternally living" Lama Etigelov have already accumulated for quite an impressive brochure. The Buddhist Traditional Sangha managed to publish this book with a breakdown of messages by topic right before the beginning of the international scientific conference on the Etigelov phenomenon. And all the participants of the conference held on June 27-28, 2015, today got acquainted with the most striking "letters" of the saint, set out in the leading report of the scientific forum, which was presented by the head of the BTSD himself.

THE BUDDHA OF ETIHELS?

The report "The Path of Compassion - the Path of Freedom" by Doctor of Economics Alexander Khachaturov, director of the Institute of Economics and Management of the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology (Moscow), said that the Etigelov phenomenon is "a proof of the unity of the spiritual and physical worlds." Because the Hambo Lama Etigelov "preserved for us his precious inexhaustible body with the help of spiritual practices."

Thirteen years have passed since the return of the Hambo Lama Etigelov. And I think it is already clear to all of us: Buddha is back! - said from the rostrum of the conference Dr. Alexander Khachaturov, clearly posing as a practicing Buddhist. - Buddha Shakyamuni gave us a teaching, and Buddha Etigelov once again confirmed the truth and relevance of this teaching. Etigelov did not let go of his body, as Buddha Shakyamuni did. His precious inexhaustible body is an indication that we should seek the answer in the physical world. The purpose of these searches is to find the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds and their unity.

According to Alexander Khachaturov, it is impossible to explain the Etigelov phenomenon within the framework of today's natural science concepts, since his body "is in some energy, material, informational or other exchange with outside world, that is, it remains alive. ”The scientist hypothesized that information can be converted into energy and vice versa, and that consciousness is not always connected with the brain.

Spiritual practices have always been human attempts to influence the material world through informational influence, the scientist believes. - Information can determine, set the properties of matter at the stage of structural genesis, that is, influence its structure. The experience of water crystallization under the influence of sound signals with different information content, with one or another degree of harmony or disharmony, symmetry or lack of symmetry, confirms this idea. This means that informational influence can change the properties of a substance on the degree of its formation. And you can probably use this approach!

On the first day of the conference, after all the welcoming words and the plenary session, its participants were divided into two scientific sections, where the discussion of the phenomenon of the imperishable body of Dasha-Dorzho Etigelov will continue tomorrow.

A large number of reports will be presented by the guests of the conference from Mongolia. Moreover, representatives of Mongolian Buddhists and scholars will speak. Among the speakers are also employees of the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology SB RAS, Buryat State University, East Siberian Academy of Culture, Russian State University for the Humanities, Buddhist University "Dashi Choinhorlin", specialists in neuropathology, medicine, programming, members of the Russian and American Geographical Societies.

LAMA ITIGELOV
(video)

On September 11, 2002, an opening of the sarcophagus with the ashes of Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov (1852-1927) took place in the Ivolginsky Datsan.

The body was removed from the bumkhan - the burial place of the lama in the Khuhe-Zurkhen area in the presence of the leadership and priests of the Buddhist traditional Sangha of Russia. Everyone was surprised that 75 years after the burial, the body of the Great Lama was preserved in excellent condition - in the same lotus position that Itigelov took when he passed away meditating.

One can only assume that Khambo Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov was a practitioner of the greatest level, who reached direct comprehension of Emptiness - the Great reality of all phenomena.

A selection of materials from the Internet
