What are UFOs?

An unidentified flying object, often abbreviated as UFO or UFO, is an unusual, obvious anomaly in the sky that is difficult for an observer to identify. A UFO is a technically unidentified flying object, nothing more, nothing less. In modern popular culture, the term has become synonymous with spaceship aliens. Proponents of this theory argue that since they appear to be technological and not of natural origin, and are said to have flight characteristics and shapes seemingly unknown to traditional science, it can be concluded that they are not of terrestrial origin.

Any device that cannot be initially identified as an airplane, helicopter, airship, balloon, a kite, or other object usually falls under this definition. UFO (Unidentified Flying Object, UFO) is an object at any distance from earth surface, the nature of which cannot be explained from the point of view of common sense. Typically, a UFO refers to a phenomenon associated with a compact moving or stationary object that can glow or be dark, make sounds or be silent.

The name of the UFO appeared as a result of a direct translation from English into Russian of the term UFO (unidentified flying object), which came into use in the early fifties of the 20th century. The activity associated with the study of UFOs was called "ufology", and people who collect and verify information about UFOs are called ufologists.

Since there is numerous evidence of the appearance of UFOs, their existence is not denied, and most of the disputes around UFOs are about their foreign origin. Most of the phenomena initially estimated as UFOs after study are explained by meteorological or astronomical phenomena, but from 5 to 10% of UFO events remain without a clear explanation.

Versions of the origin of UFOs

At the moment, there are several hypotheses for the origin of UFOs, including hypotheses about the extraterrestrial, natural, psychosocial and supernatural nature of phenomena. Most ufologists adhere exclusively to the version that aliens from near and distant worlds come to visit us. Some experts are of the opinion that "flying saucers" are visits to us by earthlings from another time or the result of the activities of completely earthly, but parallel to us civilizations. Distinguish between "solid" UFOs, which look like objects consisting of matter, including metal.
