This year, on March 25, the month of improvement starts, and citywide mass subbotniks are scheduled for April 8 and 22.

Thanks to the Soviet past, Russia has developed a wonderful tradition of voluntary labor for the good of society. And at present, subbotniks are held everywhere in April, mainly on Saturdays, as a preparation for the May Day holidays.

Initially, Subbotniks emerged as voluntary work of enthusiasts from among the Communists and Komsomol members for the benefit of their enterprise. The first subbotnik on April 12, 1919 was held on their own initiative by the workers of the Moscow-Sortirovochnaya railway depot, when after a hard day they returned to the shop and repaired steam locomotives all night from Saturday to Sunday.

Thanks to this Soviet past, a tradition of voluntary labor for the benefit of society has developed in Russia. And at present, Saturday clean-ups are generally held in April.

At enterprises, truth, subbotniks, contrary to the name, can be scheduled for any working day in April, from Monday to Friday.
In 2017, massive Saturday clean-ups are scheduled for April 8 and 22. This was signed by the order of the Moscow Government dated 15.02.2017 No. 52-RP "On carrying out in 2017 mass spring citywide works to put in order the territory of the city of Moscow."

The city headquarters for the organization of work on the preparation and conduct of the month for cleaning and landscaping of urban areas and mass city-wide subbotniks, which is created annually, will be headed by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow government for housing and communal services and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov.

Last year, about 2.5 million people took part in subbotniks, of which almost 250 thousand were residents of the Eastern Administrative District.

On the territory of the Okrug, the most massive subbotniks will traditionally take place in the Sokolniki, Losiny Ostrov, Izmailovsky and Perovsky parks and national parks. In addition, residents will be cleaning the territory in their yards and planting trees. The landing addresses were selected in advance by voting on the Active Citizen portal.

Annually January 21 (in 2020 - on Tuesday January 21, 2020) in many countries around the world is celebrated World Hug Day.

The idea of \u200b\u200bthe Hug Day belongs to the American psychologist Kevin Zaborney, who began to implement it on January 21, 1986. For the first time, the action was held in only one city of Clio, Michigan (USA), and now it has spread to most countries of the world.

As for whether does Russia celebrate Hug Day on January 21 - since there is no other the officially approved date for such an event, the World Hugs Day (hugs) is celebrated in the Russian Federation at the same time as all over the world.

Who can you hug on this day:

Idea World day hugs (hugs) on January 21st is to induce family and friends (relatives, friends) show tenderness and hug each other for a few seconds.

Naturally, on this day, couples in love hug each other. But, you see, this is nothing special, because they do it all the time.

Children on January 21 should definitely hug their parents (mom, dad), and parents - their children (daughters, sons). Grandparents hug grandchildren and granddaughters, and vice versa. They'll be okay with a mutual hug friends and girlfriends from one company.

But you should refrain from unexpected embraces of strangers ... Not all citizens of our country are aware that World Hugs (Hugs) Day is celebrated in Russia on January 21, and your actions may be misinterpreted. If the desire to hug on the street with passers-by is irresistible, it is better to prepare a sign with the words "Free hugs", "Hug me!" or "Today is Hug Day, let's hug)" and do it legally and safely.

Those who lived in times Soviet Union, probably remember how outside of working hours several times a year they took to the streets and engaged in socially useful work. They removed garbage, ennobled the territory, pruned trees, etc. They were not paid a salary, and such work was considered a sense of duty. And it was all called subbotnik. This work was voluntary, but refusal to participate in it was strongly condemned. So what is a subbotnik and what are its features now?

Mass subbotniks in 2017 will be held in Moscow from 8 to 29 April. Dates can be postponed depending on weather conditions

The first subbotnik took place on the night of April 12, 1919. The venue was the depot of the Moscow-Sortirovochnaya station, belonging to the Moscow-Kazan railroad... This event was not massive, since only 15 people took part in it. All of them were employees of this depot, and part-time (so to speak) communists. They spent the whole night repairing steam locomotives, and in the morning over a cup of tea they heatedly discussed the work carried out. VI Lenin, who was then in power, then accepted this idea with great enthusiasm, subsequently writing a whole book about it.

On May 10, 1919, in the same depot, the first mass labor action took place on a day off. It was from this date that subbotniks, as they were later called (the term originated from Saturday, the day off on which such events were held), began to be carried out en masse, several times a year. They were, as a rule, dated to certain dates. Participation in such events was never obligatory, however, in the light of communist education, those who did not want to take part were shamed in every possible way, and sometimes administrative punishments were applied.

Saturday clean-ups in modern Russia

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the tradition of subbotniks was preserved not only in Russia, but also in almost all CIS countries. Such events are timed, as a rule, to May Day, that is, to the final arrival of spring. Some organizations hold local subbotniks as charity events or time them to coincide with their own internal dates.

2017 will also be no exception. Mass subbotniks in 2017 will be held in Moscow from 8 to 29 April. The dates can be postponed depending on weather conditions, but so far nobody has given up on the traditional May Day subbotnik. It is noteworthy that now not only workers, but almost all of them take part in such events. public organizations, management companies, trade enterprises, etc. In general, anyone can take part, regardless of age. Of course, no one will force anyone to participate. Nevertheless, each of us will surely be pleased if we understand that we have done some kind of good deed. After all, we all live in the midst of that nature that needs human care.
