On this day, a traditional cake called "mother's cake" was always served on the festive table. On this day, they visited mothers and brought them such a cake as a gift in exchange for a mother's blessing.
Today in England Mother's Day is quite quiet. According to established tradition, English ladies have a rest, and their men do their homework and cook dinner.
